Just rip the fucking band aid off with the recession talk, the first week of the month was busy but the last two weeks have been dead as people are just waiting for the now rate hike and official numbers to justify shrinking future expectations. And that doesn’t even factor in the heat and peoples frayed nerves.

A draft would mean the collapse of the current order in the United States. Either a draft won't happen or a draft happens and shtf, the previous draft riots would be nothing compared to it.
I wonder how it would turn out. Could they even stoke any sort of fervor even half of what happened post 9/11? I'm inclined to say no.

Oh, not at all. What I meant by "dumb kid" was that he wasn't aware that in a country like NK, it's very dangerous and you have to blend in like a bugman. I in all honesty believe he didn't do anything wrong at all, but he accidentally/unknowingly did or said something that wasn't party-approved. After all, he wasn't alone on that guided tour trip. They chose him for a reason, but whatever that reason was had nothing to do with how he was completely innocent of any wrongdoing, let alone what they accused him of.
If I'm wrong and he was alone on that guided tour, then I just think it was a power play because he was an American (as well as being a civilian so it wouldn't risk military action).
Hopefully I'm making sense.

Look at how many neighborcattle went into hysterics over Ukraine. It's not hard to get people to wargasm if you have a convincing Emmanuel Goldstein. It'd also be much easier to get conservatives on board.
And the Uniparty would looooove an opportunity to memory-hole their decades of taking baizuobucks. It'd be just like how Stalin went from our cuddly "Uncle Joe" to our biggest enemy on a dime once WWII ended.

I am starting to believe the GOP thought Trump was going to win so they self sabotaged the house in 2020 to cripple his 2nd admin. They figured if they had the senate down they could stop the democrats and act like heroes. What they didn't count on is the massive fuckery to take place and a runoff to take place in Georgia. Add to that two unlikable candidates who told the Trump base to fuck off before said runoff election.
They knew if Trump did win reelection and they had the house and senate the republican base would expect them to actually go after the democrats and the deep state.

This is why it's so important to get as many Trump people in as possible if the GOP gains control. Their main goal of the next 2 years will be to prevent Trump from winning in 2024 and tax cuts for corporations that want to troon out kids.

The last part is what I'm curious about. There's already polls where 2/3s of conservatives and independents all but say they hate the regime and wish to see it dashed. This regime that seems to want to mutilate their children and sexually molest them, that says that their way of life must be destroyed and their family ripped apart.
That's the thing, before, there was some semblance of unity and some idea that in the end, we're all Americans and we need to pull together. These days, if a nuke went of somewhere in the United States, one half would cheer, and which half it is depends on where the mushroom cloud is.
This is why the midterms are vital.
