Diseased Neo-Pagans / Witches on the Internet / Witchblr - SMT IRL, but with fatties

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
**Continues to sperg**
Man, isn't it funny how the second we point out that worshipping Fenrir is stupid even by the standards the Norse themselves followed, we suddenly all get labeled as Christians?

There's been no gripe about Christians and their faith from myself nor have I labeled anyone except for the guy talking about how great Christianity is in comparison a Christian. You're seeing what you want to and making connections that aren't there. And I'd be up for an actual discussion about my faith, but as the two of you sperging in this thread about it have shown, any sort of discussion with you is of bad faith and you fail to heed anything I've already said about it

Anyone actually curious or interested in hearing my experience and isn't spamming "AWOO!! I WORSHIP WOLF BECAUISE COOL", feel free to DM me as others have done

You worship an entity quite literally NO SINGLE ANCIENT NORSE worshipped. Wolves in old Norse were innately linked to destruction, chaos, and -yes- evil; there is a reason why times of great strife were called "wolf-times" and why Ragnarok will be heralded by giant wolves eating the Sun and Moon, who, incidentally, are Fenrir's pups. Fenrir is a monster who will play a key component in the destruction of the world and the original Norse believers would have nothing to do with him. Claiming you are for Fenrir would have gotten you blood-eagled under the unfeeling gaze of a great statue of Odin.

You have adopted a religion you know nothing about except for whatever you've read on Reddit and anonymous blogposts. You handwave the inconsistencies with "Gods can be what you want" and claiming everyone else has been deceived by Christianity. You are a basketcase of delusion. No one wants to hear about your made up wolf cult. Delete your account.

I personally don't get why from all paganism everyone choose norse, even people from heritage that has nothing to do with vikings or even germanic people. Well , sure, i know its because of pop culture, videogames, tv shows and black metal , just seems lame that vikings never did anything of note beyond thieving and raping but somehow they are enshirened as the the epitome of european culture, despite not even being civilized enough to write their own histories.
Because there are only really three mainstream flavors of European paganism: the Romans/Greeks, the Celts/druids, and the Norse.

The Romans/Greeks are way too well known as in we know way too much about them and their practices for there to be wiggle room in the modern day worship of those gods since we know from archeological records what their correct worship looks like. The Romans also later converted to Christianity and were the first primary driving force behind European adoption of the Christian faith.

The Celts have two issues working against them. Firstly, we know even less about the celts/druids (as far as I am aware) than we do about the Norse. Secondly, the celts/druids were utterly conquered and dominated and destroyed by a superior (and Christian) force in the Romans.

The Norse then are the only ones left for people who want to feel special and different. Their religious practices are well known enough for an idiot to adopt the surface details and recognizable enough that they don't have to explain anything since the brand recognition is built in, but still obscure enough to allow for that wiggle room where people like @Fenrir Worshipper can still do their whole "WE DON'T ACKSHULLY KNOW WHAT THEY WERE LIKE SO I'M JUST AS VALID!" thing that Neopagans like to do. Combine that with the fact that the Viking Age only lasted for a very short time before the norse kind of just peter out and disappear from the historical record for a bit and it becomes relatively easy to ignore the fact that they all converted to Christianity and their ancestors would all forge Christian empires except for the Varangians who willingly let their sons get assraped by Turks.

There are only two religions apparently.
Well pigs and wolves are natural enemies in the housing market.
GREEN JELLO SUCKS!
You're all fat and gay and I refuse to have sex with you.
Luv u 2 habibi :feels:

I don't quite understand why assuming one specific person who is up and down praising Christianity as superior and calling them out leads to these reddit-tier gotchas about 'calling everyone christians' and 'assuming only two religons' but it's pretty cringe

And Celtic pagans mixed with Norse pagans pretty decently because of the movement of the latter. If you're actually interested in reading up on it, I can provide the source book that dives into the subject

I apologise for not taking your beliefs vewwy sewiouswy.

To be fair you are in an awkward position to defend your beliefs. Not only are you autistic enough to want to worship a pantheon that's been dead for a millennium, but you want to worship a cool wolf that had a bit part in said pantheon's mythology.

Take your Reddit speak back to Reddit, Redditor.

It's called anthropology and archaeology.
There still really isn't a lot of good documentation about the actual practices though. All of the myths and legends we have today were passed down through intermediate Christian or Islamic sources so there is definitely bias and things considered uninteresting to contemporary readers were omitted.

Plus on top of this the religions themselves changed drastically in response to the rise of monotheistic faiths, late Hellenistic pagans in particular weren't praying to Zeus or Diana like at the time of Augustus. Late paganism in that part of the world was practically monotheist, it viewed the gods as different manifestations of the same divine One. I don't know Germanic well enough to speak on it.

The only ancient one I can think of that can be reliably reconstructed to a significant degree is Roman paganism, and that's because they were obsessed with doing everything in a specific way and wrote everything down over and over again, many times, and their histories were full of stories about people who screwed up religious rituals and got punished. On top of that literacy was high enough that common people could and did write down prayers, spells and offerings.

Haha, to be fair, I'm not particularly offended or upset nor am I 'defending neo-paganism' or whatever else. Though I do enjoy discussing my personal beliefs, I'm here for the same reason you are, friend. Hence my original posting

Of course if someone shows they are just r/atheism tier cringe posting when discussing my own faith, I can't be bothered to continue with them. My personal faith isn't so easily waivered to be crushed by an anonymous cringe poster

They had some pretty cool architecture which later was an inspiration for the later stave churches you can still see today (except the one Varg burned lol) so clearly they were doing something right.
I really need to see evidence of Satanists having children. Because I've yet to find any.
Anton LaVey did, his daughter Karla runs the First Satanic Church and he also had a son named "Xerxes Satan LaVey".

"Fuckin' traitor-Gator and that pedophile Jersh Moon, ah just wanna see my son Xerxes but his whore of a mom is keeping him from me, I'm fixin to holler something fierce!"

Indeed. whoever you are. Avoiding your obligation and doing what's easy is exactly that. And it gets easier and easier...why, this can't be so bad, right? "It feels good and I'm still a good person!" you cry as you isolate yourself from your fellow man, pulling ever more in on yourself until everyone outside your family unit is a stranger. And when the chips are down, your luck's run out, and in your darkest hour you cry out to the Prince of Darkness for succor, will you receive it?

Or will you just hear the vague sound of the wind...sounding suspiciously like it may be laughing?
