This is how Breaking Bad fans are. They root for the main characters no matter what. Walt, Jesse, Jimmy, and Kim are the heroes of the story. And Vince Gilligan obliges by having them win over everyone. Walt kills all of his enemies and gives his family millions exactly how he wanted. Jesse escapes the drug game and police and lives in the state of his dreams. Jimmy? Kim? The show will likely follow suit and give them happier endings than they deserve. Because this ending will please the fans. This show and BB are all about fan service and not taking more abstract or downer endings.

Yeah people like Hank or Howard and tons of meth addicts are in their graves. But, who cares? Your favorite characters got good endings. Others like Nacho, Lalo, Gus and Mike got what they deserved from the drug game. But the real fan favorites will get to 'win'. If BCS follows the same formula of BB then Jimmy and Kim will reunite for an ending where they have a softer ending than they deserve for their crimes and misdeeds.

I don't see how anyone can be a fan of BB and BCS and not actively root for Walt or Jimmy.

Dude, I like Breaking Bad, but I stopped rooting for Walt once he became more ruthless and refusing to change his lifestyle. I rooted for Jesse (somewhat), only because of the hell he's been through. That doesn't mean they're saints and Gilligan makes it quite clear that it's not a story about heroes (that goes to Hank). They just happen to be well-written characters! The scary thing is, a likable person doesn't necessarily mean they're a good person. To criminals, they see them as "a good guy" on the account of their personality, not always their humanity.

Walt had abused his wife so much that her mind breaks and she just accepts that she has to live with her meth kingpin husband. The entire point of that fifth season is shes such an emotionally abused shell she thinks that just because he isnt doing it anymore its “okay”, and has went from telling Jesse not to sell weed to telling Walt to kill him because hes a gigantic piece of shit that gaslit her (in the real sense not the fake twitter sense) and kept breaking into her home because he refused to be apart from his family. I dont see how someone can watch Breaking Bad and come to the conclusion that BITCH WIFE was actually *too* supportive of Walt. Even Walter stans can tell shes doing it reluctantly until she becomes desensitized to Walt’s crimes after a street year of emotional abuse

While Skyler wasn't exactly cheering on Walt's criminal activities, I didn't get the impression that she was so broken and downtrodden that she felt like she had no choice but to comply with him. It seemed more to me that she realized she was going to be complicit in someone else's criminal activities either way, either by laundering Walt's money or by helping conceal Ted's tax fraud from the IRS, and she figured Walt was the better option because he was both making more money and less blatantly stupid about his crimes than Ted was.

My breaking point was when he poisoned a fucking child, not even because that was absolutely necessary, but because it was just a step in one of his autistic gambits. And despite knowing he did that before the reveal (you did know that already right), it was right after that scene full of awesome where he blew up the lab that Vince decided to rub it in your face that he was genuinely a purely evil bastard at that point.

He should have just shot himself when he spun that gun looking for advice from Providence the first time.

I "rooted" for Walt til the end, the same way I rooted for Tony Soprano, or Vic Mackey. I never thought they were the good guy (I'd say Vic is definitely not like the other two). I didn't want him to get away with it, but I was glad he fucked over the Nazis and let Jesse free, etc..

The second time around I watched Breaking Bad, I stopped rooting for him super early, when he refused the free healthcare because of his hubris. I stopped rooting from Jesse pretty early on as well.

In fact, Walt is much worse than either Tony Soprano or Vic. Tony Soprano is the way Tony Soprano is because he was born in crime. He's a legit diagnosed sociopath. Yet despite all this he still went to Melfi and tried to work through his problems, even if mildly, unlike Walt who ever refused to think he was anything but 100% right 100% of the time. He's a product of his genetics and his environment, and he still has a code where he won't go ahead and poison a child.

Vic is also defensible, for starters he never had any illusions that what he did was right. He genuinely tried to keep the streets safe, and he felt he wasn't getting paid his due when crooks and assholes were getting more than their fair share so he figured 'Hey, I'm gonna get some myself while I lower crime'. Unlike Walt, the crimes he did were for his family, he was genuinely trying to make sure that his family had everything it needed and they were set up for life, he wasn't trying to build an empire and after he saw how much they robbed from the Armenians, you can tell the shock and the 'Oh shit what did we do?'. Yes, he murdered a cop in cold blood, but the way he saw it, he was coming straight at his family. He also knew that what they did was evil, he just thought it was necessary. You can tell that it's something that deeply bothers him. Also, throughout the whole show, you can see that when it comes to others he has an actual moral compass, sense of justice and is a decent man, he just went completely off in a way he wouldn't have if his circumstances and teammates hadn't been who they were.

Walt is just a bitter man led by hubris and rotten to his core.

It's not like he had disguises, and while he probably had resources hidden, it would still take some effort to get to them. Hes not exactly a nobody in Mexico.

She only starts walking into pools when she realizes that Walt is a cartel leader who is playing kill-or-be-killed with cartel heads and is endangering their family. She is willing to launder drug money......but not die for it. Nor have her family die for it.

Skyler asks her lawyer for help concealing Walt's crimes and keeping his money. How to wash the money or just hide it to the incredulous reaction of her lawyer. She consults Saul as well. She is basically an accomplice for Ted's IRS scams and actively involved and feels comfortable handling Walt's drug money on her own. And ends up having Saul's goons threaten him and even tells Ted one more time he needs to keep silent after he becomes paralyzed. She is all in for Walt's drug money laundering to the end even knowing that the Schwarz couple are giving them drug money. Scamming the car wash owner out of his business for a low price was fun for her. She knows that the money comes from the misery of drug addiction and drug violence but does not care because it is not part of her direct life. She knows about drug deaths and drug violence because her brother-in-law is a DEA agent.

She only gets upset when Walt is blowing people up and watching Scarface and laughing at the violence. She knows Walt has lost his mind and has changed drastically. She even knows that the last phone call Walt makes was him getting her off of the hook by berating her for being weak and stupid and not recognizing his greatness and trying to get him to stop being a cartel member. It was all theatrics. "You always tried to get me to quit making my meth!!". Because Walt knows the DEA or FBI are listening intently.

I swear the people who like BB and BCS understand almost nothing of either shows whatsoever. The less you pay attention to the shows the more you can mindless enjoy them. Criticize nothing. Consume next product. Consume next BB spinoff. Bravo Vince.

Nothing Walt did bothered me all thst much except killing Mike, bit Mike did mouth off and antagonize him.
