There can absolutely be a deal. Indictment could actually be part of the deal (if it involves Chris pleading guilty to a felony). Or it might not. Or Chris might declare his holy innocence all the way to trial.

If this goes all the way to a trial by jury Chris is completely fucked.

Again, we don't know. Personally I think Chris fucked up a plea deal, but there are other possible reasons (again, it could be part of a plea deal, where they had to indict for Chris to make a deal for a felony).

EDIT: I've posted before about how it would be difficult for them to restrict Chris on a sentence that's already been met with time served. It wouldn't have much teeth. A deal involving a felony conviction would fix that by allowing them to dictate terms to Chris for up to 5 years.

The defendant doesn't go before a grand jury. The *CHARGES* go before a grand jury and they decide whether or not to indict on a felony (the answer is always yes).

The defense doesn't get to say anything at a grand jury. The prosecutor just presents evidence and the grand jury either agrees or disagrees (they agree 99.9% of the time). The felony case then proceeds in circuit court.

Chris does not have to be there, and almost certainly will not be there. The time for Chris' attorney to dispute the evidence was at the preliminary hearing (which is presumably what happened today).

Fellas. We've seen from troll call after troll call that when Chris is directly verbally lambasted for something, he utters his dumbass sigh and goes quiet and just hopes the other party shuts up. ESPECIALLY when it's presented in a calm and matter-of-fact manner like ABL did, and how I'd presume the court would be handling him.

In all likelihood, Chris just stays quiet and squirms around in his seat going "mmmh...nnggh...." for however many hours it takes while everyone else deals with his shit for him. If his defense knows what's good for him, they'd ensure that he doesn't get the chance to open his mouth all that much, too.

Even in prison, and the state prisons around there are chock full of niggos, they'll even view him maybe the same or worse than a child rapist since even the most hardcore black (or shit, white) felon is still going to love their mother, and wouldn't give it a second thought to beat the shit out of Chris if they get a chance. Apparently it's a thing in prison with pedophiles and sex offenders, where if given the chance, an inmate is almost required to attack them if they're able to.

Ultimately lawyers have to follow their client's wishes. The judge could lay out the most cushy slap on the wrist plea deal ever, and the lawyer could urge his client to take it. But if the defendant decides they would rather take their chances, the attorney has to respect that.

Chris was probably already determined competent to stand trial, so if he wants to go with a dimensional merge or Barb was asking for it defense, he can. I sure do hope he testifies on his own behalf.
