US Portland, Oregon Megathread - Tales from The Rose City

Didn't see much of a thread regarding all the fine antics of Portland and the people who live there, so I thought to make one.

Lesbian bar shuts down one week after opening because they weren't woke enough

Doc Marie’s is a lesbian bar that opened on July 1st of this year with the hope of bringing more inclusivity to the city of Portland. But just one week after their grand opening they were forced to shut down because of complaints that the bar was not a “safe space.” Similar to the story I wrote a few weeks ago about the queer-owned cafe in Philadelphia that was shut down by employees for not being woke enough, Doc Marie’s was cannibalized by the woke mob.

The crowd on opening day was huge. One woman said that the line for entry on opening night was “wrapped around the block” with “literally 200 lesbians” waiting to get in.

But the excitement about a new progressive hangout dissipated quickly. Within days, Doc Marie’s found itself on the receiving end of accusations of not being inclusive enough for trans people and people of color. Despite mask mandates being lifted in Portland, patrons accused the bar of not implementing enough COVID safety measures. Patrons also claimed that Doc Marie’s had “culturally appropriative art” on the walls.
One TikToker, who says she attended the grand opening, breaks down the accusations against the bar:

Employees of Doc Marie’s created an Instagram page to echo these concerns. They claimed that the owners weren’t proactive enough in creating a safe space and accused the owners of racism. The employees also demanded that the bar host “free opportunities for education” for the community.

Eventually, the employees demanded the owners relinquish ownership of the bar and hand the business to them. The owners were given a “24-hour deadline” to adhere to the ludicrous demands.

Just five days after opening, the bar announced on July 6th that they had to close temporarily in order to address the cries from the woke mob for a “safe and inclusive space.”

Surrendering to the woke mob doesn’t appear to be working out in Doc Marie’s favor, as the bar remains closed with no public plan to reopen.

Portland used to have an amazing book store that I'd drive down from Olympia to go through.

Last time I was there was about six years ago and they were having some kind of fucking march or some shit for something I didn't fucking care about.

Look, faggot, get out of my way so I can get to the VA. I don't care that some hippy got batoned in the face.
There's also VooDoo Donuts.

It was never some great utopia, but not so long ago it was a very laid back, easygoing kind of artsy quirky place. I used to love going downtown, checking out the Portland Saturday Market, all the little mom and pop stores and restaurants. Downtown Portland today seriously looks like something out of a post apocalyptic movie, I haven’t been downtown in close to three years because I’m nervous walking around there in the daytime, forget about night. And the leftists there all act like the “this is fine” dog and tell you you’re lying r crazy if you point out how dystopian it’s become. They can’t or won’t see the destruction and gloominess of the city
There's still life, growth, and development happening in surrounding areas; Vancouver is actually getting a bunch of of development and has an actual restaurant scene these days (where you won't get hassled by homeless).

There's no amount of money that I could be given to ever set foot in that shitlib hellhole. I'd definitely check out the more rural areas of Oregon though, they say that they're beautiful.
They are extremely beautiful. Outside of Portland, Salem, Eugene, the whole state is fucking great. It's just that those three I-5 corridor ratpiles are fucking everything else in the state like a troon in a lesbian bar.

They are extremely beautiful.
And that sort of thing is my bag, baby.

I prefer to be around as much nature as possible. It was once very undeveloped here where I currently live, but twenty years passed and now it's crowded and built up. I used to be able to walk out my front door, not see neighbors, and walk into the woods and just explore. Now there are houses everywhere and with those houses, people.

When I was really little, I lived in rural New York state and always wanted to go back there but when I tried to return in 2011, I realized that the maxim of "you can never go home again" is very true. It wasn't the same as it was in '91 as it too had become developed and lost all of the charm that it once possessed (even in the summer, which is the best season in New York state).

So I go to the Smokies a lot these days. If money was not an issue, I would build a log home out there with an amazing garden. But sadly money is always going to be an issue for me because I made poor choices as a youth regarding school and careers. True, I did not take out student loans and permanently cripple myself, but like many in my generation, I was sold a bad bill of goods when it came to careers, and I made the remarkably stupid choice to try to go through life avoiding physical labor and skilled trades because I too was convinced that they weren't good enough. Now it's too late in life to start, so I tell every young person I know to really look into skilled trades, as if you want to put in the work, you can write your own ticket in those fields and then have the money to live somewhere that you can "touch grass" on the regular.

The Columbia River Gorge is one of the most beautiful places in the entire world, and all the weekend "adventurers", hipster hippies, and Starbucks-sipping environmentalists are "loving it to death".

Even without tourists, the entire Portland/SW Washington area's population has exploded, it's so fucking crowded and traffic-jammed. Every little bit of land in every suburb within a hundred miles bought up, trees butchered, and packed with cookie cutter houses and strip malls. The last 20-30 years urban sprawl has completely devoured every inch of land and character.

And that's one place I would never go. I actively try to avoid bluehairs and hippy queers. I'm sure there are plenty of places in Oregon and Washington that these urbanite sacks of shit are too afraid to go, as there is no cellular signal or starbucks.

Natural parks are cool to an extent (I just said that I go to the smokies a lot) but I go to specific parts of the smokies where most people do not dare venture. These would be one lane roads cutting through mountainsides occasionally punctuated by hillbilly settlements. I set up camp there for a few days and just fish or relax in the solitude and quiet all day and when I am recharged, I go back out into the shit-world with my sanity intact for another period of time.

This is a problem even further south. On the weekends, Portlanders will drive south for an hour or two and then up into the Coastal or Cascade mountains. They then proceed to stop at a random stretch of road, and set up their huge fucking RVs and whack off to whatever already wrecked scene they find; they dare to call this "being with nature." Of course, they leave behind a trashbag or two of plastic and shit, their shitty clique somehow downing eight fucking two-liters and a dozen bags of Doritos in a weekend.

They've wrecked a lot of stuff near the major highways. Anything on the highways or just a short ways off is scuzzed to all Hell.

Thankfully though, the Portlander is afraid of being without cell service, so they never make it to any of Oregon's more out of the way beauties. But the day I find used condoms and Mountain Dew bottles on the top of Iron Mountain I think I might fucking snap.

Finally, we throw down! https://www.motorious.com/articles/features-3/antifa-oregon-motorcycle-clubs/

Back on Saturday, July 16 members of Antifa followed through on vows to try disrupting a gathering at the HonkyTonk Bar in Salem, Oregon. The result of the far-left group’s actions is what some are predicting to be a war between them and several motorcycle clubs throughout Oregon. If that sounds to you like a confrontation which would be wise to back away from, you’re not alone. What happens next could be ugly.

Originally, Antifa groups began rallying members and supporters to join a “counter demonstration” for the “Take Action Tour” event being held at the HonkyTonk Bar. They characterized the venue’s gathering as “racist” and catering to both “fascists” as well as “white supremacists.” That event was marketed by the bar as “Hero Appreciation Day” complete with a dunk tank, bike show, eating contest, live music, bouncy house, family-friendly karaoke, free hot dogs, etc.

When Antifa showed up in black bloc, their numbers were very few. Still, they used a megaphone to draw attention to the gathering across the street from the bar. Eventually, several patrons made their way over to confront the demonstrators. Arguing turned into shoving, mace was deployed by an Antifa member, then the group retreated away from the establishment entirely. Taking on biker clubs usually doesn’t end well for the opposing party since they fight back unlike moms driving their kids through downtown Portland or Christian parents holding a concern in a park, something those Antifa who showed up learned quickly.

According to several Twitter posts from accounts journalist Andy Ngo says are Antifa members, the group which confronted them was the Free Souls Motorcycle Club. The one percenter motorcycle club might not have the household brand name of the Hells Angels, however its roots run deep. Founded in Eugene, Oregon in 1968 there’s considerable controversy over the details of its foundation, history, and what its aims are today. Regardless, Antifa seems poised to take it and other one percenter motorcycle clubs on in Oregon, promising for a confrontation like they’ve never seen.

White Rose of the Willamette Valley used its Twitter account to complain after Salem police didn’t protect their fellow Antifa members during the confrontation. It said Free Souls and “other uniformed security” both “attacked and injured community members peacefully protesting” without supplying details or other evidence. Unlawful whatever on Twitter claimed “one of ours” was hospitalized from the fight, retweeting a different person claiming “Salem police literally backed away” when the Free Souls came out to confront them. Another Antifa account proceeded to dox several people involved in the confrontation, tagging their supposed employers as well as releasing other personal details.

It's not like Antifa is unfamiliar with physical confrontation. Per Andy Ngo, one of the organizers of the demonstration at the HonkyTonk Bar was arrested in 2021 after allegedly hitting a female police officer. Ngo claimed another in attendance plead guilty the week before for doing over $164,000 in damages to a courthouse.

Nobody knows for sure what comes next in this feud, but some purported Antifa members took to Twitter to either voice their concern for the group’s trajectory or encourage others to push forward in that direction. One person warned Oregon motorcycle clubs are “highly organised (sic) and relentlessly violent and have vast networks you don’t understand.”

if only

they love going out there. then they come back into town and squawk about how many MAGA signs they saw. but they know *perfectly well* not only are the rednecks *not* dangerous, they are in fact the people who will help you if you get into trouble.

it's extremely surreal living here if you've ever lived in a part of the country with real no-go areas.

I've only been Oregon once and already hate the whole state, goddamn Karen bitching loudly about "war crime" and “inhumane bombing Syria" when I get my hands on one of the few remaining Tomcats in the States.

The whole state is a soy soaked hellhole and should be wiped from the Earth.

Honestly, I've heard that the LGBT community's biggest issue is the "queer" part of it pushes positions that could set them back, and they have to do something about the queers.
The issue is that straight people who are having an existential crisis about being "privileged" have infested every organization, and snap any organizational power to whatever magnifies their imagined oppression, often times to the detriment of actual gay people. But since they're actually straight, they know they can bail at anytime. It's literally a gayer version of being a commie rebel with a plutocrat daddy who keeps a junior executive position open for when you settle down.

Plus ever gay organization has nothing to do since 2015 and are like a failing b-list actor that'll accept any role.
Well, I'd disagree with that somewhat. Trans men are not, by and large, trying to force their way into men's locker rooms, sports leagues, and social clubs. Trans men are not going to doctors that treat the male body and demanding that their nonexistent prostates be examined. They aren't making issues unique to men all about them. They aren't insisting that the word "man" be replaced with penis-haver or semen-producer. If they go to prison, they aren't demanding that they be housed with men and then assaulting them.
Men who try to become women turn into lumbering she-orcs eternally frustrated at their impotence, constantly looking for something that can trigger their rage in a mock catharis of an orgasm. Women who try to become men turn into dumpy cal-art looking neckbeard eunichs who can only passive-aggressively snip from the sidelines. The women are less noticeable and weaker, but they're constantly harranging to try and become the center of attention. One of the more famous trans cases was a female, Gavin Grimm, who felt she was being discriminated against for not being let into the male lockerroom with the boys for gym class.gay-pride-parade-san-francisco-gavin-grimm-rides-as-celebri-california-june-celebrity-guest-12...jpg

Rednecks and non-nigger blacks are some of the best people I've ever met where I live. Dangerhair queers only hate them because they have an entirely different culture than theirs: the culture of the working class. They own guns, they grill meat, they hunt and fish and ride quads through the mud and listen to the "wrong" kind of music and drink the cheap beer... and the dangerhair abortion-fanatics hate them for it and wish that they could kill them all, but they know that in a real civil war, these people would push their shit in and reduce their woke urban shitholes to piles of rubble.

I one time was fishing on a steep incline and fell and twisted my ankle and who was it that found me and helped me back to my car so I could drive to the urgent care to make sure my ankle wasn't broken? A redneck who was bringing his Gheenoe back in from bass fishing.

Most of my friends growing up were either "rednecks" or blacks who defied stereotypes and were into shit like Magic: the Gathering and Black Metal rather than sagging their pants down around their knees and listening to garbage pop rap. They never once bitched about "wypeebo" or claimed that the deck was "stacked against dem" and a lot of them went on to be moderately successful, but I don't come from a community with a lot of money and there are still a lot of people here from high school who never left. (I tried leaving but realized I hated the city with a passion and came back in short order)

rednecks are my absolute favorite part of the PNW
I imagine they are different up there than they are in the deep south. Down here, they all think that they are cowpokes even though none of them have the money to own a horse (save for my best buddy's mom and it's impoverished her for the most part) and most of them talk a big game about how they're "country" even though they live in the suburbs and have never spent a day in a rural community in their lives.

It's a lifestyle thing down here. A lot like "goth" or "rockabilly" but just for poor white people.
