You know for how many followers Jim has, 250k, he gets very little traction on his tweets. Trans stuff gets a few thousand, bitching about Britain gets a few hundred, his wrestling barely 100 sometimes.

Its not that unsuprising he doesn't get a lot of engagement with his political or wrestling shit. His political takes are just what he sees someone else says and then rewords it as if acting like he has the ability to think critically, his wrestling stuff is just a tier above the "I'll play anything for expose" stuff so he isn't even getting awareness from mainstream wrestling fans and it shouldn't be a surprise that his usual fans don't care about wrestling either.

His wrestling shit would get more traction if it was sequestered away into it's own account. People like SFO learned this a long time ago- if your audience expects politics, muh trans rights tracks, not gaming. If they expect gaming, they don't want to hear about muh trans rights. If you separate them, you can go to a repository of all wrestling content, or a repository of all gaming content, or all politics content, not needing to sift through them all and not needing to ignore content for however long until something that interests you pops up. Oh, and SFO isn't a lazy cheapskate who avoids making anything for weeks.

I highly doubt that.

Not that I doubt your general point as to separating your different "genres" of content so as to always deliver only content people want when they subscribe, but that requires each individual kind of content to be good in its own right.

From what everyone says - and honestly I could probably have guessed - Jim's wrestling stuff sucks, it wouldn't be able to draw its own audience. I think it benefits more from being tackled on a somewhat popular account than it would from being more subscribe-able to wrestling fans specifically, since wrestling fans have much, much better channels/accounts to subscribe to in the first place.
 
It’s always interesting when Jim wokus pokus types try to tie an unrelated hobby or interest into their politics. Like, it’s not enough to just have your politics and like something, the latter has to express the former. It’s usually easier for people who write.

If you aren't a wrestling fan - think of it like a sports league. There are different tiers of popularity and skill across different federations - it's not like you can compare an NHL player to some kids fucking around on a frozen lake.

Jim's content looks like a literal single step up from Backyard Wrestling in terms of professionalism, reach, and scope. I'd imagine that Jim blows complete dogshit but the promoters see "Guy with 800k subs on YT" and decide to roll the dice.

When you desperately and thoroughly hate yourself like Jim, instead of growing as a person, you can just put on a silly costume and pretend to be someone who has their life put together. It started in his Jimquisition content when he put on glasses and a coat and became Jim Sterling, standing behind a podium and running out of breath after every sentence. Then it turned into some wacky Willy Wonka character as he started introducing more infantile humor, followed by the Snobby Aristocrat and so on.

It's no surprise that he's ended up in Pro Wrestling. They're all dysfunctional and hide behind characters to be showered in negative or positive attention. Being transgender isn't that far off either. Instead of simply being a man with long hair who wears make-up, he had to create a new "him/her" with a new name and a new sense of self. They get the dual feedback, both positive and negative, for their identity as a "gendertrash" human being. (surely referring to yourself as "trash" doesn't stem from deep issues with self-worth /sneed)

It's no wonder that when the mask drops, he's nothing more than a bitter and pissy old man in a dress, yelling at strangers, surrounded by trinkets of his past.
