Phil isn't closeted so much as he has no idea how sex works snd has no real desire for physical intimacy with anyone. Bear in mind he only really valued John and Howard as to what they could bring to the table financially, as well. He only has one love and that's money.

He believes himself to be a good person because he also deludes himself to be infallible. Anyone with a reasonable criticism of his behavior is seen as an antagonist and therefore deserves to be treated like shit. While I share this sentiment, it's usually reserved for people who have actually committed serious offenses or who are deliberately being jackasses, not anyone with a reasonable yet uncomfortable question. For example, I have no problems with him being a dick to Snowkarl because he is actually an asshole even if he gets Phil to talk way too much and reveal shit, but Phil will act snippy towards anyone if he hasn't gotten enough money.

It would be a pretty DSP thing if he was a faggot his entire life and somehow never realized it. It simply wouldn't surprise me if he has an identity crisis while in his 40s and realizes he was gay the entire time. The benefits of actual sex vs. jacking off are pretty marginal if you have absolutely zero feelings (or even negative ones) for your partner. He really does this and I do not get it, I don't think there's anything wrong with Phil's teeth. You can glimpse them when he talks and they look normal to me, yet he consciously does not smile EVER. Its so weird!
