How is her Star Trek game coming? Or was that the old flash in the pan? Gotta get on XCOM2 now.

Can you play XCOM2 via Steam on a Mac? Does she have a Steam profile where we can see how much she plays?

I'm just trying to imagine what excuse Wu will use when February passes by with no shipped game. You'd think people would be hesitant to believe she didn't have time when she's been trolling on twitter for days now. But her followers have really amazed me with how willing they are to turn a blind eye to Wu's behavior.

If all the stars align it might happen this February. It is, after all, a leap year so there's one extra day!

Cross your fingers everybody! :story:

That's not necessarily indicative of a lot, you can get Unreal Dev Kit from their main site, although that one is UE4, and not UE3, I believe Wu is still on UE3.

However, it would be interesting to see what posts Wu has on the Steam UE and UE site forums, bet we'll find a lot of shit to blow that so called expertise with UE out of the water.

Fair enough.

You still would expect a leading figure in the industry to a) keep up with the newer versions of the engine they so dearly love and to b) do more than just look at the stuff for 30 minutes on steam once it's in your library. At least play around with it for a day or two. No indication that ever happened.

Wait, I'm confused. How do you know part two is super damaging and stuff if you haven't got it yet?

Without going into specifics, we're waiting on the last puzzle piece to fall into place. With it, the lulzbomb will have a much higher yield.

I'm sticking with my theory that when Wu supposedly got stabbed in the head and got amnesia from being in a coma, she came out of it thinking she was her Original Character, Do Not Steal.

At the very least it can be the origin story for a horror movie "Wu Goes There?"
Best. Headcanon. Ever.
FYI: The short story "Who goes there?" was adapted in 1951 into the movie "The Thing from Another World" , which was later remade by John Carpenter in 1982. Feel free to enjoy all further "Wu snarling"-photos with an Ennio Morricone soundtrack in the back of your head.

You know, Kiwis, since we have a bit before some critical components come together, I thought we'd arrange our seats in a little circle a moment and perform some theorycraft. Discussion of why Wu may or may not have transitioned is not normally something I engage in for lolcow wiki, as her reasons are, ultimately, irrelevant, but after three sections of Wu's manuscript and about a dozen to go (seriously, it's over 400 pages), and given that Wu has been acting like an entitled shit lately, we'd discuss it:

Did anyone else notice that Wu used the same language to market her public persona as Brianna Wu as she did Socially Unconscious?

Her ads have had identical language. We're not talking similar, or possibly an errant quote here or there, we're talking one and the same. "Only fools mess with the gals of Socially Unsconscious" is a tagline on the back of Wu's fake-book. "Only fools mess with Brianna" is the tagline on her Susan's Place bio.

That actually reminds me, there's more commonalities.

Wu's claims, similar, are along the lines of what her characters in this little sperg-fest are - political officianados, journalists, and part-time supervillains. Frank Wu fills the role of every single male in SOCCON, as someone for the girls to play off of for comedic effect, never effectual in any way, and ultimately pointless except as something for the girls to exploit for profit or slaking their lusts.

.....Guys, I think Wu became trans in order to live Socially Unsconscious.

You mean other than the multiple times we've posted Wu's manuscript in periodic updates, covered new facts as they became available, or the fucking amazing McDonalds ad @zedkissed60 found? Or Wu's sales-pitch letters? They started dropping about 20 pages ago.

Unless you mean the reveal, which is coming as soon as we have the last piece needed.
Here are my two cents to our theorycraft session, I will just pick up some ideas from my fellow Kiwis:

I still need to read the most of her written diarrhea, but what I have gathered so far seems to fortify my theory:
Wu has only one story to tell. One set of characters, characters that are all parts of herself, or that what Wu wants to be. She tells this story not because she wants to tell a good story, or because 'feminism', but because it is her personal wish-fulfillment fantasy. It is pretty much the same reason why Chris made Sonichu, it's a power-fantasy / masturbatory fiction.

These characters are incarnations of her desires, how she sees the world (or how she would like the world to be) and what she likes. The thing is, that desires and the things someone likes are fluid. That is the reason why Holiday suddenly transformed from a sorority girl into a super scifi-spy. Wu went to college, and her characters were college girls. Wu loved Mass Effect, therefore Holiday and the others went into space. Wu liked anime back in the Socially Unconscious days, so she wanted to make comics and open an animation studio. Wu loved Mass Effect and then suddenly she wanted to make a game 'inspired by ME'.

As we can see, Wu is trying to act out her own little world of "strong female characters" for a long time now; That she tried to turn her life into her own sexual fantasy, given enough money, doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I mean -heck- there is a picture a few pages, that shows that she is even wearing the same clothes than Brea ...

...also Brea and Brianna sound scarily similar.

We got a person here that not just wanted to become a woman, but wanted to become her own twisted demi-sexual fantasy and make as much of her own power-fatasy real as possible... and it is really impressive that she made it that far. If a rip in reality would open to a place where Wu could become Brea or Holiday, she would probably jump through it without hesitation.

If this isn't autism, I don't know what is.

I think there is nothing else driving Wu, but the desire to become more like her characters. And that's why Wu is fake: You don't become a "feminst" because you want to be a "feminist", as much as you don't become a "game designer" because you want to be "game designer". You become a game designer, because you want to design games, you become a feminist because you want to change something in society, you become an author, because you want to tell stories. I think that in reality Wu doesn't want to make games, she wants to be "somebody important", that's all. She wants to be more like her fantasy. She wants to be a game designer, because it's cool and people will look up to her. She wants to be a well known feminist, because it's cool and people will look up to her... you know like her characters.

I think I might brought that up a thousand pages back or so, but this leads me to one conclusion:
I think Brianna Wu is an empty shell.
A mask with nothing beneath, but the desire to become that mask.
Brianna Wu is a person who can't take off her mask, because this mask is all she has left.
She's empty.
Hollow.

Camilla: You, sir, should unmask.
Stranger: Indeed?
Cassilda: Indeed, it's time. We all have laid aside disguise but you.
Stranger: I wear no mask.
Camilla: (Terrified, aside to Cassilda) No mask? No mask!

I guess we will have to wait...

I like to imagine that telling your child about Brianna Wu would be like telling them about Baba Yaga or the Bell Witch, a malicious entity to scare the child into good behavior.

God, imagine hating your child so much that you send them off to work for Brianna Wu.
