How solid is the idea that she's either Patreoning herself or someone like Frank is doing some kind of financial chicanery with her Patreon?

I strongly suspect it, but has that been proven?

Can't prove anything either way, but that's the basic protocol for a successful patreon account. If you read guides on monetizing social media, the sections of patreon always recommend adding a little "seed" money - as long as the percentage that Patreon takes out is less than the amount you recieve, it's just a business expense.
Wouldnt this constitute fraud on some level? I mean Im pretty sure theres something similar in the financial world where you make your investment firm look like its doing lots of business in order to draw more customers but in reality most of the "business" is you just moving money around in your accounts.

I wonder if theres a script that can filter through Briannas Patreon supporters and see whos leaving and joining and who else they are supporting.

Yes, but it's something that's so hard to prove that there's nothing you can do about it.

And it only fights with loud noise.

You could probably release it before R60 is rereleased.

Couldnt the feds or state government investigators subpeona records or something?

That R60 Kickstarter is certainly looking more and more like an easier to prove fraud case.
It would take several people who supported to complain, and go through the Kickstarter process, and have Wu refuse. But so long as Wu puts a minimal effort forth, they can claim they're working on it, just delayed, and avoid any real repercussions.

Not going into specifics, but we've already decisively proven John's a college dropout and that Revolution 60 is merely a reskinned SOCCON, as well as establishing far too many links between John Flynt and Brianna Wu for Wu to successfully deny Flynt has any relation to him (he'd be busted for perjury if this were a courtroom open-shut case style).

The final part of the reveal were aiming for is evidence that will take all of that and augment their damage potential to the point the second it hits the papers, he's so fucked we'll all die from laughing too hard at his salt output.
It's sounding like you guys found original copies of all the SOCCON strips or something, goddamn. The anticipation is fun.

There's nothing wrong with moving your own money around through your own accounts. If you have a savings account and a checking account, you can bounce money between the two accounts. I'm not going to powerlevel, but suffice it to say that if you're willing to pay fees, you can do it as much as you want and if you agree with the fees, go for it. Who's going to argue with someone being willing to pay more in fees?

Circular transactions are actually more of a concern for more nefarious purposes--paying yourself is a big portion of money laundering, and its supposed to be under a great deal of scrutiny. However, the rules for financial transactions are pretty explicit--if there is a LEGAL concern, that's a big deal. If the laws and rules of the website do not forbid paying yourself, it's not illegal. My hunch is we're probably due for an interesting news story about someone doing this and then a federal law being passed, but I'm not sure that law is on the books now.

I think its dishonest; I think the whole Brianna Wu sob story to take money in place of people who actually might need help is dishonest. The financial transaction itself is probably legal unless she's somewhere said that she's not doing this. That's a very big unless...

Financial Regulations took down a former speaker of the House.
If there is an actual law in place regarding "No circular financing on Patreon", it's pretty easy to make the second point--she has likely gained financially for doing it. But if this is an "Accepted Practice", I don't see much happening.

There will come a day where Brianna Wu is too radioactive to support, and I think Jamias and company is shortening that Calendar as we speak. I'm not sure where that standard is met, but Patreon's business is to fundraise legitimate causes. The Wicked Witch of the West's Twitter Snarlbox Power Bill is not a legitimate cause, and Patreon will figure it out sooner or later. But I'm really curious what the aces being held right now are, and I think as soon as they are on the table we may see some consequences...

I know her tweets are the source of most of our lulz, but it's great to have a break for her smug bullshit again.
She was at her most smug she's been in ages today, like she completely forgot about the college thing.

I imagine Jamias and friends dropping the first half of the reveal took the wind right outta her sails.

@Jaimas I think more of the pictures need to show up in the main article instead of just citations. Specifically the one of her dressed as Barbarella where the poster of that pic said her name was Brianna Flynt. Maybe the scar one too.

Those are huge, but I'll see what I can do.

I don't understand how brianna thought that it'd be a good idea to use the exact same characters she drew as her former self (that she wants to remove the trace of) for her new game.

Then again (s)he's done dumber shit, so I guess there's no real bottom of the barrel.
