Everyone is concerned about Pelosi getting killed while I'm over here wondering why we're about to violate foreign air space with fighter aircraft while being warned not to. It's not 2003 anymore. The average American is sick of war, and the active military is even more sick of fighting pointless wars that we will inevitably not win.

As much as I don't want to see another pointless war Pelosi is one of the worst and most corrupt members of congress so the country can only be greatly improved by her death.

I'm not convinced they'd actually pull a sacrifice play anyway, even with the old bat.
If they did though tbh she would be the most logical since she carries some authority and recognition yet not enough to be an automatic response to the same degree someone higher would evince, she's old and problematic and getting pushed out by the younger more radical idiots in her party who are true believers vs just collecting checks, and shes also at the end of her political career by her own words.

If you're going to do something that big you want to choose someone whose impact you can control.

That being said I don't think they'd do it, knowingly at least, since Pelosi is fairly key to their delicate balance of keeping all the various House Dem factions from killing each other, if only barely.

This is also going to have a mass impact on the housing market. Boomers will downsize, or die/pass along their homes to the kids. These homes will end up flooding the market. People don't really seem aware that real estate is not going to climb forever, its going to climb so long as population climbs, housing is expensive and valuable so long as there's not enough of it to meet everyones needs, like any other good. As population levels out or even trends down, the market will correct to its historical norm of "Not all that expensive or valuable". You'll still be paying 250k just out of material costs and labor costs, but thats far better than 900k+.

Boomer mass retirement is also going to be a crisis situation for the tech infrastructure space. Huge amounts of network infrastructure still depend on a few dozen crusty boomers answering their pagers to fix obscure issues that define the tech concept of "Tribal Knowledge". Eventually, they'll have more money than shits to give, fly off to retire on a Caribbean island, and then shit gets interesting. Nobody wants to be the one to hire and train a replacement because that means paying two people the very high senior expert tech salaries to do one positions work, for years, to cover all the required knowledge. So they don't, and its gonna be a shitshow when they finally walk. The only reason leadership is paying any attention at all is a lot of them already retired, but came back as independent contractors at 5x the cost working their own hours because they know nobody can do anything about it, they're truly essential.

Can confirm. Knew a guy who got laid off from his job as a database programmer, and was then immediately hired back on as a contractor making more money with better hours. Turns out a guy who has been writing code since the 70's cannot be replaced by H-1Bs and trannies in programmer socks. Decades of non-investment and under-investment in American talent has utterly fucked corporations, and if it wasn't for the fact there's going to be nasty repercussions for the rest of us from their hard fall I'd be laughing at it without a care. Not that I won't be laughing, but it will be to help kill my own pain through schadenfreude.

What I fucking hate seeing is how there used to be HR people who were the older 50+ year woman (sometimes man) who was decisive and knew what was needed for the company because she had sweat equity, but now it's a 25 year old woman who runs everything through google searches to pretend she knows what she's talking about and has no concept of money because everything is cheap on Amazon and she's never had any struggle in life.

Shit happened to my mom. Decades of experience but no college degree made her unhireable in HR departments. So she became a real estate agent where her people skills have enabled her to make more money than she ever did in HR. Someone's getting the last laugh and it sure as fuck isn't the people who declined to hire her.
