A question to those that know more than me. But if this wasn't Chris and just a regular case what would be the reasons for it going this way?
Like why would a regular adult incest case take a year before being brought before a grand jury.
Sorry if it was asked and answered earlier.
It’d probably be a little shorter but remember: Chris isn’t a regular person. It’s taking so long because of the sheer oddity of Chris’ behavior, gender identity, and mental health situation. If a normal person was in this scenario, they wouldn’t have to have prison moves so often or wouldn’t be denied bond (though that is a major assumption). They’d probably take a plea deal faster (but it is possible that Chris has taken a deal), and there wouldn’t be this much fan fare about the whole thing.

In Virginia the max is life, is it not? I'd argue that Chris living to 80 is unlikely, but both his parents did pretty damn well.
People keep saying this not remembering Barb is an elderly boomer and Bob was even older. They were fed on much better food than we ever were in the 80s-90s to now. Chris will not have longevity just because his parents did he grew up on perservatives and corn syrup.

You have to remember it takes time for the prosecutor and defense to build a case. You wouldn't want for example be in a place of a crime against someone thats known to have bad blood with you. That you also fit the description of the percieved murderer and only have a week to build a defense.

Another thing is people. Green County is pretty small, but they still have a couple thousands of residents. They're already booked in advance so you have to wait your turn. Most cases takes years, hence why bail exists. Jodi Arias murdered her X in 2008. It took until 2013 before a verdict was reached. This also is due to scheduling and because trials can take long periods to portray their side.

Edit: typos

From what I gathered isn't bringing the case before a grand jury something that happens relatively early?

I highly doubt any case of a 39 year old man raping his senile mother would be "regular". Say that "Chad" meme guy had done it, defense and prosecution would settle into a long "what the fuck?" of discovery and evaluations as well. Yeah, all this pretrial shit has come down to trying to understand Chris on the legal level and getting Chris to be "competent" for trial via IVPPP and WSH, but such an unusual case would take time to compose.

It's not like Chris did something as normal as shooting up a school or bombing an art supply store and then shooting a Papa John's.

I have searched far and wide and haven't found a "regular adult incest case" in the history of Virginia. Maybe West Virginia or New York, but not Virginia. This might be the first documented and prosecuted case of an adult man committing incest with his mother in the history of the state of Virginia.

Don't know if the FAQ has been updated, but that's because felony charges are being brought up. Previously this isn't needed because it was being handled in family court. We don't know why it's taking an extended amount of time. I think the consensus is that Heidelberg wanted to play the long con with time served. With time served Chris could've then plead guilty to a misdemeanor and walked free with a plea deal. Hence, by waiting a year the prosecutors either had to shit or get off the shitter. And as we now know, it's a shitty situation for Chris.

In all likelihood it wouldn’t. Chris is a special kind of retard after all. You have to remember that a good chunk of the time he spent not in jail but in some kind of tard containment unit to learn how to behave in court etc.

If an ordinary man had fucked his octogenarian mother (if such a man could be called ordinary) they would’ve been processed way quicker.

Chris revolutionizing the incest scene of Virginia and breaking new ground, as usual.

I think the delay was because there was a possibility that Chris was legally insane. They put everything on hold to get him evaluated (twice!)

My mother (legal transcriptionist and stenographer, 15 years) predicts that if Chris is convicted, he'll land in prison for a few years, and then will be reevaluated to be sent to a psych ward for an indefinite amount of time, or permanently. We shall see.
My mother and my father are angry at me! I want everything about my house OFF THE INTERNET NOW NOW NOW

You know, 10 + years ago watching the random thread on Chris on 4 chan you knew it wasn't going to have a happy ending, but this... this is not what was expected.
I mean, I saw the delusions of godhood coming based on how he gradually wrote himself as a more and more powerful being in his comics (which were always representing his idealized version of reality) in combination with him using his comic “powers” on real people. It was just a matter of time before the lines between comic-god Chris and real-life Chris got completely blurred.

But the incest truly came outta left field…

they spent maybe half to a quarter of their lives on food that didn't use artificial flavors preservatives or corn syrup. By the time they reached middle age in the 70's they ate the same crap everyone else was and lived off it for the remainder of their lives.

Bottom line, don't underestimate the chandlers. They may have terrible genes that aged them poorly and gave them inbred retard offspring, but they managed to survive in spite of it.

There is no such thing as a "regular adult incest case". This might be the first documented case of a man being charged with fucking his own mother in the history of the commonwealth of Virginia.

In the 40s, 50s and 60s preserved food was all the rage, adults that were kids back then will talk your ear off about TV dinners. And they had plenty of corn and soy in them do to overproduction for WW2 as well as unregulated Amphetamine commercialization as food supplements. Also if you ever read a cook book from the time period you will realize death is preferable.
