I always used to think their hovel setup was a side-by-side setup, with both units having two floors. But judging by the recording and f@t's own twitter thread, its actually one unit on ground floor and one on the top floor.

I know FOR A FACT ive read a twtter post from fatso where he says "Niki was laying upstairs in the bedroom..." or something to that effect, which would imply that he was downstairs. Its also why i thought both units had an upstairs AND downstairs.

I think even in his twitter thread he mentioned something like the cops didnt even check his whole house, like downstairs, so if she was dead down there they wouldnt have found her. I know he sleeps on his couch all the time, but for how long have they not really slept together? Are they actually sleeping in two different houses/units?

And i know about the pepperoni station in the basement, and he spends a lot of time in there, so him being on the ground floor would be pretty beneficial for that. oh fuck you've triggered my special interest. i would say that's a good comparison... while the common shorthand for a kafka narrator is "victim of impossible bureaucracy," really most of his characters respond stupidly to bad situations and thus make them worse. the issue however is that kafka characters ultimately have no agency over their situations, whereas fatrick is basically the architect and groundskeeper for the extremely silly existential prison he's confined himself to.

idk, to me rick's life is more like someone stuck in a "Nathan for you" tv show episode where the whole underpinning of the situation is not only false but transparently absurd to everyone not directly involved.

another comparison might be the "Confederacy of Dunces" protagonist Ignatius Riley-- also notably fat -- except that while Ignatius is a buffoonish, pseudo-intellectual snob whose terrible attitude constantly gets him into crazy trouble, he's ultimately kind of lovable, which Fatrick isn't.
