This is pretty much what I expected to happen. We've seen the polls that troons in sports are wildly unpopular except for their own circles, right? In theory, Tony's* people who live their lives in front of the keyboard would be perfectly suited for flooding comment forms like this, but...There's currently over 14,000 comments on this. They're legally required to read all these. I clicked on a bunch of random ones from today and they were basically all a copy-paste in opposition about how it will harm women's rights to weaken Title IX in this way. My random sample of these didn't find a single one in favor. So much for Tony's influence, sad!
I've volunteered hours and hours and hours in political activism for multiple blue-friendly causes. (Think along very functional lines, e.g. raising support for renewable power tax credits, school lunch funding, improving mass transit and bicycle access, etc., instead of sucking people off based on their identities. Just gotta keep my cred intact.) You know who was invariably filling those organizations' Slack channels, sending volunteers the latest drops of voters to contact and then doing the outreach?
Middle-aged women and grandmas. The same women that troons write off as Karens and terfs, and alternate between mocking, ignoring, and threatening. Even for causes that should get Tony's liberal crowd showing up in droves, it was the ~terf circles~ actually getting their hands dirty and doing the work.
Tony's crowd is comfortable on their social media sites. That accomplishes nothing beyond reinforcing their echo chamber.
* lol at first I typed Trony
