My bad it isn't that they have to do public defender work. They have to do probono work. Lawyers have to do 2 percent of their hours a year pro bono.
You were still right, pro-bono work is almost always public defender work or work for charitable organizations, victims of crime and the like...no lawyer would pick up a criminal case for free if someone's willing to pay to hire them.

Has anyone considered that his lawyer might pursue an affirmative defense? Since Chris was determined originally to be incompetent to stand trial, his lawyer could easily argue that Chris was incompetent at the time he committed the offense. Of course, that would just land him in the booby hatch until the doctor's at the psychiatric hospital were convinced he understood what he did was wrong and won't ever do it again. Given how Chris is, that may honestly be impossible. Although, in all honesty, that may be the best for all involved given his recent letter regarding Barb.

No because there’s too much evidence of premeditation, it happened several times (on a schedule!), and there was an effort to cover up the crime. Heilberg would have to prove Chris was totally completely bad trip out of his mind during the encounters.

I hope Ethan broadcasts it.
I hope this results in a courtroom scuffle, in which Chris and Ralph change places.
Ralph being unable to convince the courtroom sheriffs that he is another fat retard, is thrown into jail to cool off, while Chris escapes and tries to pose as Ralph.

With normal people this deception would be uncovered instantly, but as the Horse Meigh and Reroll Rozy actually have a less abusive life with Chris, and the killstream becoming left field and bizarre, everyone keeps quiet cause the situation is far funnier.

I posted this info in another thread, but since I see it popping up in this thread too, an abridged version of "isn't chris insane? cant he get off?" When it comes to courts, there are three types of "insane" (and none of them get you out of trouble.)

Criminally insane- Criminally insane people are incapable of understanding right from wrong, and did their crime at no benefit to themselves for no reason. Criminally insane people are INNOCENT, and then they go to psyche jail until they can be restored to criminal competency. The minimum time required is often greater than charges had they been found guilty.

Insane - Insane people do not have a logical flow of consciousness. They see the world in a fundamentally incorrect way. However they still do their crimes for reasons that benefit them, and still understand right and wrong. Insane people are found GUILTY, they are treated while in jail for the crimes.

Unfit - People who are unfit for trial are incapable of participating in the rigors of a trial, either due to health, or competency issues. Criminally insane, or insane people may be unfit for trial, however a sufficiently slow in the mind sane person may be unfit as well. People who are not fit for trial are held... till they are fit for trial. Then they are tried for their crimes.

In closing, there does not exist a fancy insanity plea that leads to the person walking outside and saying "haha I was sane the whole time idiots, double jeopardy is a bitch!!" before going home 100% free. Like they do in law dramas.

It's actually the opposite. They stringently opposed bail, which means that the various continuances, etc in this case worked against Chris' favor. Drawing a case out only helps the defendant if they are out on the streets. Otherwise, where's the benefit in just sitting in jail for a year? Yeah, if he was out enjoying his freedom then all these delays would be great. But that's not the case.
I think it was less opposed his bail and more the state had nowhere they could stick Chris. No family that could take him in. Adult group homes are no doubt short supply with long waiting lists unless he wants to get shipped out of state and I doubt a little county like Greene would either a) have the time or b) have the money to ship the motherfucker out of state just to bus or fly him back every couple of months for hearings. Plus I honestly thought his lawyer's main strategy was getting him off on time served but it looks like Chris fucked that up.

Excellent point. Claiming diminished capacity would be impossible if they can demonstrate intentional obfuscation.

I had another thought. Has anyone considered Chris's civil culpability? After the criminal trial he could be facing a civil trial for violation of Barb's civil rights.

Boy oh boy. I sure hope nobody pulls up Chris' paperwork where he's held. That clerical error 'INCEST W/OWN CHILD' is going to cost him his life if an inmate ever manages to get to him.
Chimos getting raped and killed in prison is a myth. I don't know how things were before but these days no one wants to do someone else's time. There are two types of people in prison; those who got caught up in something bad and did something bad but not totally unforgivable, such as burglary. They might even have been pretty violent crimes but these are people who could possibly be redeemed. These people won't touch a chimo because they're choosing to throw their own life away if they do that. Then there's real scumbags, complete pieces of shit. People who murder with no remorse in the most brutal ways, rapists, repeat offenders who end up stuck with long terms. These people don't give enough of a fuck about chimos to do anything about them. Combine this with the fact chimos and sex offenders are kept separate from gen pop, Chris has nothing to fear in terms of his charges. Like someone else replied, what IS going to get Chris hurt is his attitude and big mouth. Chris attempted to murder Snyder and didn't fear the police chasing him. You think he's going to have the sense to not tell some hardened 6'5 prison bull he needs to bow down to the reincarnation of Jesus Christ and smuggle legos to him?

"Jailhouse justice" is something people like to fantasize about but it's way less common than people seem to think.

Chris is a:
-Literal Retard
-Tranny
-Sex Offender

There is no way the DOC will ever let Chris see a second of Gen Pop. He'll mostly likely be sent to somewhere like the Marion Correctional Treatment Center, which is essentially a mental asylum run by the Virginia DOC, where he'll have a single cell for the duration of whatever sentence he has to serve.
how exactly is he a sex offender. he did incest with his mother... not molest a child. wtf??

To my knowledge it happens a bit more in Uk prisons mostly due to the lesser sentences being the norm there.
Also the prison population is not just proportionally smaller, it is per population smaller.
As such prisons are not as big, complex or have as much in the way of prisoner segregation, so being housed with access to nonces is more possible.

A guy doing 5 for armed robbery is not going to be as fussed about another few months for smacking a nonce.
Especially if everyone else sticks to the story that the diddler swung first.

Chris has the propensity to become a sex offender before most of Gen Z existed if he was in a situation near unsupervised underage girls.
And he would project by coining the term "pedofork" despite acting like one in one of his internet "hiatuses"
