Plain old thinks they are better then doctors. They upped her settings when she was at an appointment and she posted that the minute she got home she'd be putting them back.

She states the doctor's don't know Paisley, but she and her husband do, so the doctors can't possibly understand Paisley's oxygen needs.

Good lord, take the spud away from it's monstrous parents and let her pass, put it out of it's damn misery. You'd think refusing OXYGEN needs would be grounds for CPS or the hospital to get involved. (And then it turns into Archie all over again but stateside and more woo)
My local newspaper had an obituary yesterday for a baby that most likely had anencephaly, based on the way he was dressed in the picture, who was born at term and lived for a little over an hour. It was really obvious to me that he was much loved in his short time here, and his parents made the decision that was right for them.

Yeah, as long as you aren't forcing other women to carry anencephaly fetuses to term, if carrying one is best for you go nuts. It's a shit situation where you're getting a brainless zombaby when you wanted a living kid no matter what.
The issue is shit like prolifers banning abortion even for fatal conditions like anencephaly, or situations like Baby K where the mom pulled a Hollie/Globyn/Tinslee, refused to accept reality and insisted they revive her literally brainless spud every time it coded.
Something Awful zombaby thread was pretty bad too, but the worst party there was the baby daddy, street preacher and general sleezeball Danny Lirette.

I'm not sure where I read about him, it might have been the PoE thread on the same subject.
This is why I really detest these shitty parents. It would be one thing if they did everything medically necessary to keep their kids comfortable, but instead these slimy assholes are always taking them out in public to catch diseases when they have severe immunodeficiency, or doing otherwise dangerous things to harm them, despite choosing to keep them alive in torment at best.

I was really surprised that one of the Hartleys, IIRC Lola, didn't have a feeding tube. How DID they feed her, anyway? Bottles? Baby food?

That's one of the things I hated about Gwen. She'd go on about how they were both immunocompromised and also too fragile for any medicines whatsoever. And then take them to Cal's basketball games and let Lola
Both, but I think mostly baby food? They'd hold up a spoon in the vicinity of Lola's face, she'd start rooting, and then they'd basically pour it down her throat. Something like that. Mind you, Lola wasn't nearly developed mentally enough for eating solids, and even with a bottle I'm not sure she had a safe swallow.
Also, Lola didn't have a feeding tube because Gwen is a piece of shit who was mad that Claire had a feeding tube from a very early age and felt "cheated" out of feeding her baby. So when she spitefully had Lola she also spitefully refused medical interventions/treatment, including the feeding tube. So Gwen would have a permababy to feed. And a permababy that projectile vomited because her stomach couldn't cope with food and there was a reason why Claire needed the feeding tube in the first place, imagine that.
I happened to click on the link at just the right moment; there was a livestream in progress. It's exactly what you think: a camera trained on Bilal, lying motionless in a hospital bed, Occasionally, there's a slight flicker of movement as he breathes, and his arm jerks and head bulges slightly. Nearly a thousand people watching; the comments were stuffed to the gills with people saying he needs to be allowed to die peacefully, and hysterics like "LORD JESUS I PRAY THAT YOU WILL HEAL THIS CHILD AMEN IN YOUR NAME AMEN!!!

Bilal has to be one of the worst. That's a normal baby's cry coming from that....thing. he's suffering. Someone was saying the other day Luna buna doesn't register as alive in their brain because she's so doll like. This poor kid defintiely does register as alive. Never thought I'd say this but luna has the better deal here.

I really hate when people involve children in adult issues, and right off the bat going "hey bud do you feel crummy cos ya Health Insurer denied your medications?" is so extremely gross to me.
FYI this kid has DNA ligase IV syndrome:
"a rare hereditary disorder associated with impaired DNA double-strand break repair mechanisms, associated with combined immunodeficiency. We investigated a 12-year old patient with obvious syndromic features, severe microcephaly, short stature, low body weight and bird-like facial features, resembling Seckel syndrome or Fanconi anemia with no signs of acute illness or malignancy."
His sister also has it, looks like there are <50 documented cases worldwide. Was only diagnosed in the sister after he was born. Requires a bone marrow transplant but he unfortunately developed graft vs. host disease after his which sucks.
