Remember how Spider-Verse hyped up the appearances of many, many beloved versions of Spidey? Like the memetic Japanese Spider-Man, or 1602, or the cast of Spider-Girl?

Remember how Spider-Verse ended up being 'WHY SILK IS THE BESTEST WAIFU AND DOC OCK IS A BETTER SPIDER-MAN THAN ANYBODY ELSE' while barely utilizing a lot of those AU characters and killing off most for shock value? I do. *sigh*

Honestly, out of all comic writers, Slott is probably one of the closest to a lolcow in the field right now. He's ridiculously easy to milk, too.

I'm really glad I gave up on Slott around the time he did Ends of the Earth. I've never been a huge Spider-Man fan, but over the years he's made the character almost unrecognizable from his earlier incarnations.

Well this is disappointing albeit not unexpected considering how Defy Media (GT's parent company) was trimming the fat from the Escapist last year...

So much feels here. When it came to video game reviews, GT was my number one site. Brandon Jones has the best voice for voice-over. You will be missed GT.

So hey, speaking of Twitter being a fucking embarassment. It's been going downhill for a while, with no end in sight, and the usual suspects are making the argument that this is because Twitter has problems with harassment. So it recently established a new "Trust and Safety Council."

Guess who's heading it up?

I guess this is what happens when people who have no job and sit on social networks all day get assmad about names and faces they've been conditioned to hate getting put on a corporate board.
 
It was a reddit thread that showed up in my Google Alerts for my name, that I had set up to help grow my indie dev business before all this started like so many people in my industry. The title was “if eron goes to jail, I will hunt zoe quinn down and rape her”. Alerts and direct contact like this, specifically discussing the court case, was only escalating and becoming more common. I’m used to things like this at this point, but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t effect me. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t effect anyone close to me who becomes collateral damage in this sick crusade my ex started against me. The continual escalation only ever increases the chances that someone will make good on something like this. Trying to get the law to protect me has only continually put me in harm’s way.
