Guys, you can't use logical questioning here because "logic" isn't relevant as to why Cherie loves and defends this character so much. Her love of the Bug comes first, the reasoning comes about afterwards. To me, it seems blatantly obvious that as a socially inept and unaware, arrogant (she was in speducation, remember, but acted like she was above the other students), likely obnoxious and outcast child, she identified herself with the Wogglebug very strongly. She has totally projected herself onto him, this is clearly a very personal thing that she holds close, and she treats "redeeming" him as a serious mission. Being severely autistic she probably could not see why other people disliked or ignored her, concluding they were wrong and she was just misunderstood. Her whole "the Bug just wasn't around the right people" (i.e people that kiss his fat ass with 0 questioning) line is probably exactly how she feels/felt about herself. Just like the Wogglebug, she repeatedly drives people away with her obnoxious and entitled behaviour, then proceeds to blame everyone but herself.
"Meant" to be alive?? Now that's a sketchy line of thinking. If in this world these creatures are sentient and intelligent, how are they not by default "equal" to other creatures with the same level of sentience who happen to be flesh and blood and not toys? Why shouldn't they live? There's this guy I think you'd be interested to know about, funny moustache, Austrian, etc...had some similar thoughts. To be honest I think Tip IS really retarded to rather hang out with and actually defend creatures that are like living toys instead of actual creatures that are meant to be alive like Wogglebug and have real hearts and brains like he does.
