IS Defense: The New Game from the Makers of 'Hatred'

As much as I like the idea of repelling Moslem invaders from Europe, a game that appears to just be one long turret sequence doesn't look all that fun to me.

Be prepared for outrage and accusation of Islamophobia.

Looks like it's a variant of the old stationary gun games that have existed for a long, long time, where you basically shoot at incomings until you die. Just with snazzier graphics.

I'll vote for it just because I want to see it piss people off.

But will it piss people off? I mean, the comment about having to "defend the old continent" might potentially get labelled as racist by the usual suspects, but compared to this group's previous game where you go on a murderous rampage, a game where you fight off a terrorist army seems relatively run-of-the-mill.

Because of that game, they're already in the crosshairs of the manufactured outrage crowd. All they'll have to do is say some mildly "Islamophobic" shit that won't even sound out of line compared to shit Trump says every day, and the legions of the triggered will gather to give them free publicity with their buttrage.

Also, I kind of like that old style game. It gives me nostalgia for Missile Defense and that kind of shit.

Yeah, they might as well have named it Raghead Beachhead. Might be fun, though, and since it's a variant of a classic style that's hard to screw up it's probably a placeholder to bring in cash while they work on their next bigger title.

So edgy. Also, just playing a turret segment doesn't sound fun. But seeing people get butthurt over it, would be worth it.

This game is like basically chill and realistic, gamers :jacewow:!

might potentially get labelled as racist by the usual suspects
Yeah, but those usual suspects consider everything "racist" or "problematic" anyway so ehh.

It looks kind of fun but I doubt there's much to it.

"IS Defense?" Why not just call it "ISIS Defense?" Are they worried ISIS's lawyers will hit them with a trademark lawsuit?

Well, the trailer seems to imply that the Islamic State extends its reach far beyond Iraq and Syria as part of the premise, so IS would technically be the more accurate title. Still, "ISIS Defense" would definitely be a more eye-catching title.

Also the creators are based in Europe and ISIS is primarily a name used in the US. It's irritating when groups have fifty different names that are used in multiple places.

These developers are deliberately trying to provoke outrage. The more they bait news outlets into writing "How could they?!?!?" articles about them, the more publicity they get. Donald Trump does the exact same kind of thing.

The more publicity they get the more sales they'll get, regardless of the publicity's tone.
