No, they just happen to be so stupid, so politically and socially unaware, that this is the likely outcome that they went ahead with it.

Been there friend, having been cursed with libertarian leaning politics, getting the autists who call themselves some sort of libertarian or anarchist to actually get with the program and help is... really difficult. The easiest way to get these particular autist types convinced, is to have even bigger autists do the heavy lifting for you.

Please note, I said "easiest", not "easy." And ultimately, if they are hiding behind theory as an excuse to do nothing, then nothing can convince them.

Blame World War 1 and the lead-up to it.

Germany, Russia, France, and Britain ran amuck with nationalistic fever and you ended up with shit where they were willing to go to war over the slightest thing. Adding to this, for ages the balance of power in Europe was France, Russia, England until Germany came along and fucked that up. Germany kicked France's asses so fucking badly and was such an existential threat that England and France, once mortal enemies, basically became allies and further allied with Russia against Germany due to them being TERRIFIED of Germany and the no fucks to the old order that they gave in an existential threat sort of way.

And that's not counting shit like in France, where you had the Dreyfus Affair scandal, where France framed an innocent man for treason and then acquitted the actual traitors because French nationalism was so retarded and pig headed that the masses felt that it was better to let the actual traitors to the state walk free than besmirch the honor of the French government by forcing them to admit that they framed an innocent man and convicted him and freeing him.

But WW1 was the biggest thing as there was a common notion that had nationalism not existed throughout Europe, the war wouldn't have happened and millions would not have died. Nationalism was the drug that made everyone agree to a cataclysmic war that the world had never seen before and made them think it would be over quickly instead of becoming a quagmire that killed an entire generation of men in Europe.

Well it's funny that the Soviets in the end reverted to Nationalism to defeat Nazi Germany.

Though it's interesting many Western Leftist cunts want Russia to die these days. Even though Russia still has its commies around, who most likely hate Western leftists I assume.

I have wondered over how come the Russians don't suffer from woke shit and this kind of retarded romantic pacifist fatalism of war is very bad despite losing more men than the Western Europeans did.

Keep in mind, to overtake the lead, Lake needs to win the remaining vote by under ~55% (about 53%). She is vastly overperforming that.

Since I'm here and we're talking about libertarianism now, are there any explicitly libertarian politicians and do any of them hold office anywhere? It oddly seems like an oddly polarizing to unpopular ideology.

That's a very, very complicated question. However the most succinct argument that remains cogent is that the Soviets and later the Russians have a very different view on suffering. In the West, suffering is viewed as a fundamental evil which must be eradicated. In the eastern slavo-sphere if you aren't suffering, you aren't living an upstanding life. As to why that is so culturally ingrained, who knows? Perhaps is has to do with a combination of the Orthodox Church, or hand-me-down Soviet propaganda being retooled.

As in running under the Libertarian Party? I can't think of anybody at the National level, Justin Amash was GOP turned LP, and was out within a term. I'm sure there are some at the State and local level but very few.

As far as hardboiled right-wing libertarians who are in office, there are some but they are under the GOP. Most famously was Ron Paul. His son, Rand Paul toned down the rhetoric some, but he us up there. Blake Masters will likely be one of the more populist-libertarian types around.

There's a lot of State level that also run under the libertarianism under GOP tent. One of the more famous ones when it comes to libertarian politics is Tho Bishop, the Chairman of the Florida Bay Area GOP.

I can explain the problems with Libertarian Party politics, but it will take a bit.

they really werent. It comes down to how wide win is. If you have winner some win with a lead of 100,000 votes and you have 25000 mail in ballots to count, wont change shit.
