Excuse my autism but the latest Phil rant annoyed me so I'd like to sperg about a few things.
Again, excuse the autism. I wanted to talk about the prestream and thought this is the best place to do it.
I like to count the number of weasely words or phrases he uses. Even he doesn't believe what he's saying but he's really hoping his dentheads will.
ex. "factually well-documented publicly"
What does that even mean? It's Phil jargon for excluding the new Secret Limited video from potential "React-style content". He either disputes the factualness of it, which he can't because it's all information from his streams or his bank leaks. Or, more likely, he doesn't like the public nature of it. He plays mobile games and we all know it but he doesn't want to publicly admit to his addiction so he says the information isn't publicly confirmed. Doesn't matter if it's true, it's never been confirmed by Emperor Phil so it's not worth addressing.
Phil's admission about playing mobile games is indisputable. It comes from his streams. He even admits it again in this rant. But he calls the allegations "spin" that isn't "exactly true". Does it need to be exactly true? Of course not. Phil just doesn't want to address it so calling it partly untrue is an easy way to cast doubt on the allegations. It's "circumstantial", Phil says. But we don't need to see the fire to know there's one present. Enough smoke tells the story.
He claims the trolls are trying to hurt him because they can't go after anything controversial because he's somehow a better person now and that they need to concoct wild stories to keep people away from his streams. But why would anyone believe wild stories about an honest YouTuber? They wouldn't. It's Phil's history of dishonesty which makes the "wild stories" the detractors tell plausible. Because he lies so often ("to protect his family!"), people become skeptical of anything he tells them. Especially when he stands to benefit from belief in his version of events.
"little snippets of fact" - the first small admission that there is some truth to what the detractors say. They're taking small truths and putting them together to tell you lies, that's the story.
He's so salty that past Phil blew up his spot. He just wants to tell his viewers one thing and then rewrite history whenever it's convenient to make whatever point he wants to. He doesn't want anyone to remember what past Phil said and to simply accept whatever current Phil is saying now. It makes me think of The Party from 1984 but 100 times more pathetic.
The bankruptcy case comes up and it was soooo stressful. He had to go through shit because people looked over his forms and said "this doesn't make sense, how could this be true?". Our first "nugget of truth" as well. So it was true that at least some of his forms were fucked up/there was dishonesty on the forms? That's what he's implying, even if he didn't mean to. What's the true part?
"It's all based on speculation", he says. Okay, so why not confirm the truth then?
He gets into the "I wish I could be 100% truthful and tell you the mobile games I do/don't play". The tacit admission there is that you aren't 100% truthful, especially about mobile games. Given that admission, aren't the trolls then right to question what you say and not accept your words as gospel?
Also, I love the progression of lies that he thinks no one remembers. First, he was saying "I don't play mobile games any more. I gave them up when Kat moved in". Then it was "I don't play them in any major way". Then it was "Well, I do play a few but I don't spend much money on them". Now it's "I told you guys I played mobile games but I don't whale out on them". When your story keeps changing, the default (and most likely) conclusion is that you're lying.
No one is asking for Phil's bank account numbers. We've already seen some of them, at least. All people have been asking for is for him to show ONE account, his WWE Champions account, to prove that he's not DownFromTheRafters. But he has to make the demands from these people sound ridiculous and the danger of showing his phone (something he's done before) sound like it could hurt him in order to cover his ass. Also, he can't disprove the allegations because they're true, but we already knew that part.
The trolls, according to Phil, wouldn't care if he showed evidence that proved he didn't play Champions. X to doubt, since I remember the escort saga. But the lie plays well to his audience of paypigs, even if it doesn't make sense. Why would they ask him to show the phone if they didn't care about being wrong? If they didn't, they'd assert it as fact and move on. The fact that trolls ask to be proven wrong indicates their openness to the idea.
"Even if I said here's the truth of the matter and everything going on" - again, that's a tacit admission that you aren't telling the full truth and that perhaps detractors are right to be suspicious of you. And an admission that you do lie, perhaps by omission or perhaps actively.
Let's say, for the sake of argument, that the trolls don't want to expose DSP and just want to hurt him. If he was a truthful person, what would the problem be? Most viewers would be able to see that he was being honest and disregard the haters. Rather, it's the fact that DSP is so evasive with things (for example, things "behind the scenes" like Rich offering him a computer) that non-dents are questioning DSP's version of events.
Part of me wants to believe that the trolls have done things to him that he's never talked about. That seems somewhat likely, in my opinion. But Phil always uses it to gain sympathy and project that he's such a good person, so I have doubts about it. It seems exaggerated at best.
Secret Limited's documentary isn't a documentary because it's all conspiracy theory bullshit? Hmmm, that's funny. I thought you said it had "nuggets of truth" connected by lies? Or, wait, was it "circumstantial", which would mean there's at least some truth to it as well as unanswered questions? In that case, you'd think reacting to it might mean you could disprove it for an easy win over the trolls. Unless...
Factual stuff that actually happened on the internet. 100% indisputable. Like, for example, you showing WWE Champions on your phone during the Daily Wrap?
He talks like such an alien. Or maybe just a stupid person trying to sound intelligent. "Giving them credence", "giving them entertainment factor". It doesn't sound like a person talking naturally.
Oh, I can't disprove the allegations because it would totally expose me to further trolling, dooood!
That doesn't make sense to a non-dent. How would showing your WWE Champions account and nothing else tangibly hurt him? It wouldn't. I know Phil's story is that they'd find his username on other games. Probably true if he in fact did have a different username. But how would that hurt him? If he's not whaling out like he claims, what hurtful information would the trolls even have? "Oh, Phil plays Fire Emblem: Heroes but has only spent 4 bucks on it". It doesn't make sense.
Why even address it? Well, it seems like the allegations have put some doubts in your whales' minds about giving you money. That might be a reason. Also, if you addressed it and had stone-cold evidence to disprove the WWE Champions thing, then the trolls couldn't use it against you. That might be another reason. He doesn't have to, sure, but it may be prudent to if he thought it was affecting his "business".
The real truth of the matter? So you weren't being truthful before?
Nuggets of truth. They'd have no case if there weren't nuggets of truth. Okay, so what's the truth the trolls are telling exactly? If it's that you play mobile games, we know. But what about the specific mobile game (WWE Champions)? That's what people are interested in. Is that a nugget of truth or not? Also, admitting the trolls have said nuggets of truth means that they aren't just fabricating conspiracy theories, as you alleged before. Based on that, one might conclude that the trolls would be worth listening to, if only for the nuggets of truth that DSP isn't telling the viewer.
But he's already told the full story about everything. That seems contradictory. If he'd explained everything with truth and transparency, how would the trolls have anything to speculate about? Wouldn't their lies not make sense against the truth Phil had already showed? Also, I have a memory slightly surpassing a goldfish, so I remember Phil claiming all the allegations (especially the bank leaks) were all lies and not worth addressing so he wouldn't do so.
Also, this bank leak story has changed. At first, it was they were spending small amounts of money from his bank account, possibly on Champions to link him to it. Now, the story is that Phil caught the large transactions trolls were trying to do and locked down his account because of them. So the bank caught these attempts and the trolls didn't get away with it? If that's the case, wouldn't that mean the WWE Champions stuff (16.51) was Phil himself? His attempt to make himself both a beleaguered victim and also much smarter than the trolls always leads to nonsensical explanations.
The bank leaks are bullshit. They're fabricated. See, here's the thing though. The bank leaks came with evidence. Phil's evidence is his own word that it's not true, the word of someone who admits they are dishonest to protect themselves/their own self-interest.
Circumstantial evidence is still evidence, Phil. And with enough smoke, we don't need to see the fire to know it's there. It becomes self-evident.
It never was my account, dood! Just because it uses my Twitter handle doesn't mean it's me!
The Twitter account name corresponding to the account name isn't the smoking gun, sure. But that's not the only evidence tying you to the account. The Discord stuff, the phone number connected to the LINE app, it's all there. Again, this is Phil minimizing the evidence and trying to distort it for those not in the-know.
Why would you use your Twitter handle in a mobile game? Because you're stupid and you didn't expect to get caught. You didn't expect anyone to check the mobile games you said you played in the past for names that could be you. And why would you, to be fair? It's autism, to be sure. But you'd need future knowledge to know to hide it in the first place. So this argument is a really weak one.
Okay, so if you do play WWE Champions and just do so under a different name, aren't you an asshole for letting DownFromTheRafters get harassed for years instead of proving his innocence? Again, we know this is a lie but I'm just thinking hypothetically. Also, it would have been such an easy allegation to disprove if that were the case. Just show you weren't TheyCallMeDSP (originally) and you're done. Granted, he may be right about the trolls finding other accounts on other mobile games he plays but if he's not whaling like he says he isn't, that's not damning info.
Trolls harass my life. Yeah, probably. I'd believe that. But I don't believe that showing a mobile game would cause much damage to his actual personal life. At least, I'm skeptical about the claim.
What does the "nonsense" the trolls say have to do with your stream? I'd imagine the connection would be that you ask for your viewers to pay for your bills, your groceries, broken vacuum, broken shower etc. So if the paypiggies are paying for your life and you're using the money you guilt them out of to play a Scopely mobile game, I'd think some of them might feel decieved. I would. "Such an honest guy" Phil lied to them. It wouldn't be the first time, sure, but it is pretty major. That's other people's money you're spending so they have a vested interest (pardon the pun) in where it's going.
The trolls are insane. They're mentally ill. They're conspiracy theorists. Just look at what I've said over the years and that's the god's honest truth. Okay, maybe, but you've also lied in the past. The wedding trip, for example. Your constant repeating that "the trolls use small nuggets of truth" also goes against this point. This is that same "don't believe the trolls, believe me and what I say" rant from the past, just slightly updated with new terminology and explanations.
Okay, now he plays mobile games again. I thought that was the past? Again, you're telling everyone you're a liar. But he doesn't spend "insane over-the-top ridiculous" amounts of money on mobile games. Well, 16.51 over and over again adds up. Maybe you didn't drop 40k all at once on WWE Champions but a few bucks everyday adds up. I think Phil is genuinely in the dark about how much he has spent on Champions because it's a small hit, only twenty dollars or so, at a time. I also think he doesn't want to know the total amount he's spent. Also, the accusation isn't that he is spending 40k all at once so that's just dodging a strawman argument.
All his money goes to his family and "responsibilities". What if one of his responsibilities was to held his guild by being a "very open wallet"? We're talking in generalities here. It completely misses the actual point.
What the trolls say is hurtful. Like the truth is hurtful to a liar's lies.
We know you play mobile games, Phil. That's not why everyone points you to that Daily Wrap. It's because the game on your phone is so obviously WWE Champions that it couldn't be otherwise. And you've denied up and down that you play it. So now you're saying you do play it but you're not DownFromTheRafters. Gonna need to see some evidence on that one. Your word isn't good enough.
It's not just A mobile game. It's THE mobile game. The one you deny playing. That's not the only piece of evidence for DownFromTheRafters being you, but it is one of the clearest and most unambiguous. One even the dents can't deny.
Okay, so now you're admitting you lie about playing mobile games? You've now confirmed you lie, even if only for convenience of your life. The problem with this is that it means everything else you say is factual is now suspect.
Focus on my legacy, my fanbase of dentheads, my positivity (what positivity?). Yeah, no one cares about that. No one that's not under the pignosis at least. Your content sucks. It's boring and low-effort. The behind-the-scenes stuff is infinitely more interesting. Especially because you're a known liar who occasionally exposes himself (once literally, most of the time figuratively).
Phil says he doesn't spend "exorbitantly". Okay, but if you're always crying that you can't afford groceries, should you be spending at all on mobile games? Or should you be paying off your debt? I thought you said that if you had extra money, it would go to helping your family? Phil doesn't realize that his claims, when viewed all together, don't cohere and so it becomes obvious that he is being dishonest. His frustration is that he can't see why people don't take him at his word, forgetting about his history of lying and ignoring that his explanations don't make any sense.
I don't spend a lot of money on mobile games and I never have. The last time I did was when I played DBZ Doukon Battle. See, you can't keep your own story straight. And the fact that you went back to play again seems to indicate you are pulled to play mobile games again and again.
This prestream is enlightening, Phil at his most angry and defensive. His lies don't make sense but he keeps telling them, regarless of if they fit together, and getting angry that people question them.
ex. "factually well-documented publicly"
