He's a cargo cult "intellectual". He repeats things without understanding why or how. He knows great fantasy books like LOTR or scifi books like Vinge's A Fire Upon The Deep or Robinson's Mars Trilogy have maps in them. He doesn't really understand why they're there, why they might be helpful or anything, he just sees "good books have maps", so he does maps. He sees "xyz in space popular", so he writes abc in space. He doesn't get the why or how. Just monkey see, monkey do. Very little neuron activation. He really, really deserved that 1.2 GPA, all he can do is fake and pretend intelligent thought, but there is no substance behind it.
When he does a talk about scifi space propulsion itll be 100% Project Rho, and if you ask him anything that would involve an original thought not written on Project Rho, he won't be able to answer. I really want to read one of his books now, just to see how dumb they really are.
But even worse than dumb, he is fat.

Just out of interest, is there a case in the US, in which someone has actually gone to prison for prank sms?
I exclude actual harassment, for example, sexually abusive, threats of violence and death, even threats of legal action.
Also, why can’t fatrick just change his number?
Surely that would be the sensible and logical move.
I know fatrick is incapable of sense and logic, but surely no one can think that they will win this when the sms have been as sustained, relentless as this, with the perpetrators showing no sign of getting bored or listening to his legal threats?

People that actually try to eliminate harassment from their life would do this. But when you’re a Twitter firebrand I guess it comes with the territory that you don’t take basic steps to get away from this stuff.
He’d have a solid case for harassment if he took a couple steps to get away from these people and showed some restraint in engaging with them in the first place. But there wouldn’t be a thread if he did anything sensible.

By and large the police don't bother investigating internet beefs no matter how vitriolic they get. Even when it comes to actual in-person harassment and violence the response from law enforcement is usually just "lol get a restraining order." They're pretty fucking useless at stopping real crime so fat chance Pat's litany of fake crimes will ever get investigated.

No, it really wouldn’t. He might have a beef about text messages to his phone [which he put out there of his own free will and has never changed] but he is a public figure, and a highly inflammatory one at that. When you use social media to promote yourself as an alleged writer with a side scam as a social/political commentator, and you spend years making really dumb statements, you bring criticism on yourself. It isn’t anyone else’s fault that he’s so delusional that he thinks criticizing him is a felonious act.
He engages via text [to the extent repeating the same stupid statements over and over again like a stuttering parrot constitutes engagement] because he thinks he’s controlling the narrative. That’s also why he mostly uses twaTTer; he can block anyone he likes or report and have a critic banned on the flimisiest of pretexts, and he’s such a simpleton that he can only bloviate in 140 characters. It’s next to impossible to make a truly thoughtful, coherent and nuanced statement using that platform, which makes it a perfect echo chamber for him and like minded miscreants.
