Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

If the Founding Fathers were still alive, they'd be called heretical satanists by biblethumpers.
Don't forget communists as well. Ironically if someone like Stalin were to come around today, I'd imagine these people would be the type to flock behind him because of his ability to be an uncompromising chode with a lust for power.

No, because once he started talking about collectivization and central planning they'd be all "What the fuck?"

There's a reason that their type in Weimar Germany flocked to Hitler and not Thälmann.

I'm sure God is real happy with Boebert, who literally got groomed by her husband and continues to defend him while being a fucking sped, to be His messenger to the wicked beings of the US government.

Didn't Boebert's husband purposely expose himself to minors in an alleyway? Funny how the right wing loons call the left pedos.

I say that because I think it's the image of a strongman who crushes opposition and everything this person says is gospel that seems to be right up the alley of modern republicans. Ik it's a pretty flimsy comparison but still lol. These kinds of people don't have very many principles and really just want to see the 'other' get crushed. Like say if Donald Trump started talking about nationalizing oil companies because they're owned by chicom globalists that hate america, they would fall right in line.

But again I ask, why did people like this fall behind fascist strongmen like Hitler or Mussolini and not the local Communists like Thälmann or Gramsci? Because the fascist strongmen offered what they wanted - the illusion of superiority and domination over people who they thought were lesser than them.

That, plus - perhaps - the feeling that it would be cool to be a criminal. The Nazis and Italian fascists essentially operated as gangsters, getting rid of any opposition and forcing people to cooperate with their racket or else. When Brecht wrote an allegory about the rise of Hitler he chose to make Hitler a Chicago mobster - and how apt that comparison was.

I won't disagree with you on that, but the modern fanatical republican seems to be much more ideologically brainwashed and what they consider right and wrong is an ever shifting grey area. Anything their side does can be morally justified to them even if it's hypocritcal, and vice versa. They love the cops, but if their side includes factions like the boogaloo boys, and these factions do something noteworthy, they will be fervently anti-police because they're enforcers of globohomo or what have you. This applies to other contradictions in these groups.

The extreme, contradictory incoherence is also a big part of fascism as it was practiced in the 20s and 30s, so perhaps it's about the same level of ideological brainwashing.

If you read up on what fascism was like, you are indeed going to get parallels to what's happening in conservative parties today - but the parallels are not, like, sending people to concentration camps. It's the loser mindset so many fascists had (Hitler being one of the biggest offenders), the extreme levels of corruption...

Fascism was about national syndicalism through trade unionism, not a bunch of conservatards being losers

Ironic, because this is exactly what Trump Republicans say about Democrats, just replace the boogaloo boys with Antifa.

Also just as a side note, the globohomo spergery are mostly Russian vatniks, just so you know.

So basically the parallels have nothing to do with policy but with a characteristic that could be applied to any particular political movement.

When the policies have similar outcomes but aren't verbatim copies, what's wrong with comparing the two?
So you wouldn't be offended at a comparison of Nazi Germany with say, Stalinist Russia? If we're using consequentialism as our measuring bar for moral policy it should follow logically.

Coincidentally, under this logic, this would mean that Fascists are incomparable to Nazis since they didn't do things like keep slave labor camps and didn't discriminate based on race. Very ironic.

"It was a bunch of Nazis being losers" is a good place to start. But that misnomer isn't really what you're asking for, is it?

All this "ACKSHULLY Nazis aren't TECHNICALLY facists..." shit reads the same way as people who like to find technicalities between pedophilia and ebophilia or whatever that fake word they made up so they could justify wanting to fuck a 15 yr old.

If you're here to play semantics over what is/isn't a Nazi/facist rather than recognize what is, you're on the wrong side.

As a former NY democrat, I don't really.
fine fine, Hitler was a hebrophiliac, not a pedo, you can have your definitional distinction, it's still repulsive. damn libertarian bullshit

boebert. she's the one that did the insider trading based on classified intelligence ahead of covid, right? or was that some other vapid bitch that should be in her kitchen (if these people followed their own rules)
