1) Only JP management screened the vid.
2) At some point, one of the English-speaking staff saw it and mentioned in passing, "Oh, that's like the Challenger disaster."
3) The JP staff, not knowing anything about the disaster, ask for context.
4) JP management assume this must be some kind of extremely sensitive national tragedy in the US and quickly axe the video without first investigating whether or not Americans actually care or are offended.

JP media companies are, as a rule, very wary of depicting things that mirror real-life tragic events.

She made some vague mentions of some stuff that had been in threads /there/ and then in one stream she told someone in chat that was giving her hard time to go dilate, which was immediately seized upon as proof that she was a based /there/ girl.

This also set Shiina up for her later use of dilate on stream and an apology for using it without knowing what it meant (she was informed of the tranny definition by one of her mods), which set off another firestorm /there/ due to the public apology for something no one had complained about on stream, ergo calling attention to it and starting the rrat that one of her mods was a tranny.

I find it rather stupid to lecture vtubers about not letting their past get exposed when literally the first thing that happens when a new one gets announced is people(a good chunk on this thread, even) going “I’m gonna track down everything I can about who they are behind the anime.”

Like I get it, they shouldn’t do anything to make it easier for some people, but it seems kinda stupid for the burglar to lecture the person they’re robbing about locking their door or whatever metaphor works best for you.
