Tbh I don’t think that’s accurate. From everything I’ve seen of VTubers vs their alts, it seems like they’re mostly being themselves while exaggerating some aspects of their characters. Hell Calli’s pretty much exactly the same.

I'm with Nolan on this one. Obviously being a pro-streamer they have to be 'on' anytime they're doing anything public (which usually means exaggerating their actual self or being hyped up), but unless someone is an AMAZING actor you can usually tell when they are not being genuine. The way they talk, the way they phrase things etc., I can't really explain it in words, but you can usually discern when someone is being themselves or pretending to be someone else.
Think about what a streamer sounds like when they are reading an ad vs. when they are speaking normally.

Heck, like he said, take Calli as an example; in the beginning I thought she sounded really fake, "like yeah, this person is totally putting on a persona and is not really like this, her speech patterns sound very 'actor-y', and she always does that 'teacher talking to a young student' voice." But then one day I finally realized...wait, no, this is how she always talks, she's just a very awkward speaker. So, her being true to herself has a lot of the tics I am looking for when trying to determine if a person is genuine, and I was actually wrong about her at first because of it.

Selen is the question mark because she doesn't seem to move out her home for anything for some reason (I subscribe to the rrat that she or her family are scared of COVID based on things she's said). Either way if you were only watching her streams because you wanted to hear your own political beliefs recited back to you like some kind of right-wing Vaush then I think it's been obvious she's not the right streamer for that for a long time now. She's never been a political streamer nor has she advertised herself as one; occasionally going on a tangent about something funny she heard Jim talk about isn't political content.

Pippa's sister doing Karaoke. She basically did this because chat kept bullying her about it. She is super tsundere about it and keeps getting flustered when chat compliments her. Overall her song choice is interesting (not something you would expect from Vtuber) but she is super nervous and self-conscious so she wont sing Karaoke version of the songs. I really do like her voice but there is still a bit of a disconnect between her character model and her voice.
