Isn't this why he shut down his original server in the first place? Why would he make another one?

I think a good number of us are too mired in memories of the older days of the internet, but the way that zoomers seem to use it is pretty fucked. The bulk of their social interaction seems to be through the internet at-face, and there's so many of them that engage in this parasocial, downright creepy worshipping - not just of creators like Sseth, but also of mods and various users. It can look kindof innocuous at a glance, but there's something uncomfortable about it that seems ever confirmed by the fact that something, inevitably, always goes tits-up with people whose primary socialization is online. Insulating yourself from those types is always a good bet.

Yeah, I've been noticing that. I was linked some meme video on YouTube the other day and when I scrolled down to the top rated comments, I saw people complimenting the uploader's character and how they wished they knew him in real life so they could be his friend. It's creepy as shit. I imagine it's much worse on Discord too.

Like others said, it was only for patrons, but it was a $1 to get in I think, and he only charges per video, so it’s easy for anyone with any kind of card to afford it. At the moment he has 9425 patrons, and while I’m sure most of them weren’t active members of the discord thats still a massive pool of people to draw weirdos from.

What's funny is, most people want to know some African Warlord, even if the fact exists that said fictional Warlord is actually a Congolese military instructor named Kongolo Nadiane. But most don't know that fact, they just want to know some perceived fictional African Warlord, like it's nothing.

Given the little blip in the outro, what was his relation to Mandalore again? I heard they were rumoured to be the same person, was that ever confirmed?

They rose to fame at a similar time, cover similar types of games, and have a lot of fan overlap. At some point, I don't really remember when, they started to occasionally reference each other. Later, they started to cameo in each other's videos more often. They appear to be friends, or at least internet e-celeb friends anyway, which is to say that they are obviously on good terms with each other in a business sense.

They cover a lot of the same types of games, but Mandalore is very, very deadpan and Sseth is...well, Sseth. So the joke goes that both channels are run by the same person and Mandalore is when that dude is on his meds while Sseth is when he's not.

In one of his streams Sseth called a reporter racist for assuming that person was a warlord. If I remember right they basically decided to keep doing their job despite the UN forgetting to pay them.
