Regarding the cat food:
Powerlevel I guess, but my senior citizen cat only eats dry food. He has zero interest in wet food, so a few years ago when the cat who did eat mostly wet food had to be put down, we just stopped buying it. It's probably not good for him, but it was a waste of money and cat food because he just doesn't eat it. But he's a senior, so it's not like we can fight him on it.
Gomez doesn't get his special UTI food which is a major problem, but I wouldn't blame them for only focusing on getting either wet food or dry food for all the other cats (if they can truly only afford one or the other). Just as long as they are fed in some capacity and not just eating Jimmy Dean breakfast bowl scraps.
ETA: One of them mentioned the water in their house being poisonous or something... what do we know about the cats' hydration? Do they only get it from wet food, or do they have water (albeit full of minerals and metals)? Are there bottled water supplies on reserve for the animals?

Polly needs to rehome most of her cats, if not all but Gomez needs to be rehomed to a rescue or someone who can afford special needs care. A friend of mine has a cat with UTI/blockage issues and his food is like 60 every two weeks. She’s spent thousands on emergency trips to help him. Polly can’t afford that. If he blocks, he’s just going to suffer and die.
Now that I’m an adult, my SO likes to make himself a big breakfast on his day off but otherwise, it’s yogurt or cereal
