Yeah, will do. I wrote a short story once and got like half a dozen other basic ideas lying around, gotta do something with that. Maybe submit the short story to some more zines or something, but I don't really know about such things. I submitted it to Clarkesworld because it was the first I found, but I guess I should look more. Never got into the whole SciFi magazine culture, should fix that.

Learning more about the shitty current book publishing industry by FatFollowing, it looks like the only way you can have it make any sense is with volume. If you could get 2-3 books out a year it might be an okay life.

If Pat shat out books like he shits out Hooligans food, then he'd probably be approaching Chuck Wendig-tier in terms of getting books marketed and published. Wendig is a fucking hack, but Wendig is prolific as nothing else. Most conventions will give a panellist leave to do a panel, but they have to GTFO for the rest of the con.

If he is not a "guest" (ie: if his name is not RZ, Brandon or Carlos), he would have had to fork out the entire $125 for himself. Panels are not the big speech people think they are - they're just some people thrown together off a list of names to provide some entertainment.

There will be so many traditionally published nobodies at these events, it's just an excuse to go to the bar and start drinking. He should thank the rascals for even making him stand out slightly from the crowd.

Anyway, a good resource is The Submission Grinder. And maybe see what is being published by subscribing to a magazine for a couple of issues - not everything is Woko Haram - many places do ride pretty close to the core concepts of F and SF

He is so unlikeable, even when people are on his side he cant actually drum up enough sympathy to turn all the attention into actual fans. A casual observer should easily feel sorry for him, and might even become a fan if he really were an innocent victim that wasnt fucking terrible at his chosen vocations. If he had the first clue about storytelling, or political firebrandsmanship he would know how to turn controversy into something engaging. He's been getting so much free publicity for three years and he's pissed it all away by being a fat humorless pig.
