[EDIT: for those who don't understand, DSP already exceeded Paypal, Youtube and Twitch's $20k or whatever annual threshold so they were already issuing him 1099's. This would only effect payment services who weren't already reporting his income and there aren't any]

So someone already linked this Memology video and reacted to it, and I initially passed it thinking I already knew what it was about, but holy shit. This was dumber than I thought, and I might have even lost a few braincells listening to Phil's hot take on Smash and fighting games by extension. He also jerks off Multiversus to some extent like the consoomer that he is, and I'm willing to bet that the only reason Phil is standing up for this game is because you can use microtransactions to skip the grind, so he doesn't have to earn his way up the ranks for certain characters like you would, say, Tekken 7 or Street Fighter.
A majority of the video is just begging for likes and begging for engagement and foisting unnecessary levels of responsibility on wheelchairs, but once again, it's the fighting game related shit that got me to do this shit again.

I admit I didn't play Multiversus on release, but I saw a few matches and thought it was okay. That being said, I found it very odd that DSP is fellating the fuck out of this game. Initially I thought that it's only because he was really trying to shill for engagement and tips and donations by talking up how good he's doing, and that'd be right. But I really think it's because this specific game allows for microtransactions to skip the grind for costumes and emotes and whatnot. And to Phil, unlocking things is a testament to being good at a game. I know it's odd to word, but that's how I see it.
Also something to note, Bugs Bunny is listed in the current Multiversus tier list as the fourth best character in the game, which is further evidence that DSP tier whores when he doesn't know/ doesn't bother to learn fighting games. Oh-Eighter, indeed.

Branching out to new games is not impossible for Smash players, since there's an entire plethora of fighting games to choose from.
But I guess in Phil's life, your fighting game journey is pre-ordained. You can only play your respective game until it dies a slow death, then drop off the face of the earth entire to wallow in shame and longing for the past... you know, like Phil did.

THAT'S a subjective opinion. I think it's average, at best. Some of the mechanics go a bit too hard, no blocking leaves out a lot of defensive options, and even 2v2 can get too chaotic to watch. I say it's... decent. Not good, not great, but I'd play it to fuck around with friends. I just wouldn't see myself watching this in a big tournament. Hell, I skipped this game when it was at EVO. It just doesn't appeal to me.
