I remember during the Canadian trucker's protest on "left" twitter they were saying things like, "These guys own their rigs -- rigs that can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. They are therefore petite bourgeois class traitors and deserve to lose everything!"

I think I've also seen the take, "These farmers own their own farming combines -- machinery which can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars! They are therefore wealthy jerks who are trying to cook the planet with their wasteful practices!"

The left will cheer when a completely disposable profession unionizes such as Starbucks baristas or the fucking New York Times Wirecutter union. And yet when truckers and farmers have their confrontation with the state, antifa sides with the state! Antifa seems to be the only ones who don't realize how neutered and self-defeating their whole group is.

It's unironically the tankie position that farmers are exploiting the workers, simply because they own land. Never mind that most farming is semi-collective by nature - farmers always pool their resources and help one another come harvest time - and that something has to own and maintain the equipment, because there's a farmer "in charge", he's automatically a kulak and should be dispossessed.

Right, because they let themselves constantly fall for the "blowing off steam tactics" where authorities will allow them to be "against the man," occupied in a controlled fashion that doesn't actually threaten those in power in any way. This time, there's actually the benefit for them in that it harms their targets, while "blowing off steam."

They're not as quite as soylent as their American branch but they're definitely going to get deep dicked if they end up getting physical with salt of the Earth Dutch farmboys. Absolutely no contest.

Truth be told they'd probably get stomped by the thicc, grain finished farmgirls.

Why have I not seen any livestreams of these protests? Am I silly expecting coverage like the Canadian trucker protests?
