I would gladly sign a prenup if I were in that situation. Prenups are basically a Cover Your Ass Agreement for marriages - so if he wants a prenup that states that I can't take him for all he's worth in the situation that I cheated or initiated the divorce, then sure. If I am an honest wife, I will never have to worry about the prenup clause become relevant.

As a side, prenups are still good to consider if you're not in a situation where one partner is extremely wealthy and the other isnt as you can write anything you want in a prenup. A couple can write that a spouse isn't responsible for the other's premarital and postmarital debt in their prenup. This is extremely helpful in the case where one spouse gets a lot of medical debt from expensive treatments and the passes away because the surviving spouse doesn't automatically inherit the debt and have to pay it off with a single income or with social security payments. If you had kids from a previous marriage, you can include clauses that state that they do or do not get part of the new shared estate when you die. Got a special family heirloom or inheritance and want it to stay in the family? Write it in the prenup.

I was curious about their medical standards and was able to aquire estrogen from FOLX while showing that I was indeed a biological woman. I wrote a post about it here, I'll edit it in when I find it.

You don't even have to do any of this. If you want hormones you can go straight to the online HRT clinics. I was actually curious to see how easy it was and if there was any safeguarding. So I signed up for one myself to get estrogen. Answered all of the questions honestly: said I was female on my official docs, has ovaries and a uterus, and that I don't identify as cis (I don't believe in gender identity, so I don't identify the gender I was assigned to). Had a 15 min zoom call and the bimbo pills are at my doorstep a few days later.

I saw that movie. That's revisionist history. In truth, what they were doing amounted to being human calculators. They were tasked with calculations the actual geniuses weren't assed to do themselves (read: boring).
Now Hollywood spins this as "PROUD BLACK WOMYN WHO DONT NEED NO MAN WERE THE ONES WHO ACTUALLY SENT A MAN TO SPACE!!", when in actuality, they were in no real terms key to the mission and replaceable (Unlike those Nazi scientists who made the strides to the rockets / space programs. Can't wait to see the Hollywood movie about the genius of those brave German Americans).

Anyhow, while there were more prominent female figures in computing early on (Grace Hopper for example), this didn't really last. You can make it about conspiracy about men barring women, but I believe the root cause to be that they aren't interested as much as guys in the field. In my experience it was always stuffed with men, even with all the incentive programs for womyn and poc's.

I never saw the movie, so I don't know how they're portrayed there. I don't understand how pointing out that they were calculators undermines their impact because NASA still used their genius to send a man into space and it shows that women at the time had an interest in STEM topics with the skills to prove it. If they fucked up the mission could be a failure. Let's say that the "actual geniuses" could have done their job: well did they? No? So the credit goes to them. All three of those women, Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson had degrees in mathematics with varying levels of honors, and many other computers who were women also had education in mathematics. Jackson went on to became an aerospace engineer, Vaughan was grandfathered into a programming role when she taught herself and other women FORTRAN, and Johnson stuck around as a computer for varying aerospace tasks but she was so well known for her accuracy, John Glenn, the third man to be in space, refused to go on his mission until Johnson specifically checked the numbers that the electrical computers computed were accurate.
The reason why women didn't last long in the field was because of good ol war: the use of computers started in WWI and WWII for various calculations and many were women because the men were enlisted. Men came back around the same time that electrical computing and computer programming as we know it came to be, so the sex ratio started to shift in their direction. Many computers at the time became computer programmers, and the ENIAC team in Pennsylvania, credited to be the first programmers, were six women who were previously computers. When the ENIAC was assembled and revealed, their names were not mentioned and they didn't receive credit until much later. At the time the public simply didn't know that women were contributing like this, so there wasn't that many girls that grew up interested in and wanting to pursue degrees in STEM topics because they didn't even know it was an option. So it led to the natural decline of women in the field.
