You go see a doctor and talk about your Sonic OC the whole time without making eye contact, bonus points if you wear a shirt featuring a cartoon character.

The fact he can’t go home is a huge wildcard this time since it means Chris will be forced to interact with people he doesn‘t know and can’t just sit at home at wait out his sentence AND he has to deal with other things like potentially throwing away some of his toys or keeping them in an expensive storage unit.
Yeah, either way things are going to get interesting. I don't see a tard home working at all for obvious reasons. My grandma used to work in one of those and they're very strict. They're not going to let him go to gay clubs, make videos, hoard toys, or go to conventions. They'll have one tv and he's going to REEEE. I don't know, but I'm guessing video games would be extremely limited too. In the one she worked at they weren't even allowed to leave the house without a worker with them. Typically the government would put him up in a low cost apartment, but I don't know if that would even work. He might would have to go on the sex offender registry and those guys always have a difficult time finding somewhere to live, and one of his neighbors would probably end up strangling him anyways just from being annoying.

One thing I definitely think is going to happen, is eventually he'll get a ween room mate.

Exactly! these group homes are not exactly a vacation. People there are strict and rightfully so. If Chris gets sent to one, I wonder how much it will take until he throws a violent tantrum and hits one of the caregivers. It will be another Jail Saga all over again

Isn't the law "you can't hold someone in jail for more than a year without charging them" by technically missing that deadline can't chris go free?

It's not like a basketball game, there's not some buzzer that goes off.

It's a habeas corpus/due process issue, which makes it more nebulous. As long as they're doing *something*, they can hold him. Since they've clearly stated they're charging him with a felony, and have made steps in that direction, Chris stays in jail.

Due process is only partially defined in procedure. It comes from a time when the law was more tradition than code. That's why interpreting the constitution is so contentious.

If they do *nothing*, Chris can go to a judge and say "Hey, let me out, they're not doing anything." If the judge agrees, he goes free. In this case there's something else going on, probably at the request of the defense, so the judge would say no.

They've already moved his case file into circuit court, which for the time being is enough.

He might would have to go on the sex offender registry and those guys always have a difficult time finding somewhere to live, and one of his neighbors would probably end up strangling him anyways just from being annoying.

If he gets deferred disposition he won't be convicted of *anything* until he screws up his probation, so no sex offender registry. Also even if there is an alternative lesser conviction if he is successful with his probation (rather than just dropped charges), it would certainly not be anything that would put him on the registry.

He just keeps getting into trouble.

And he's not actually like those other retards, because they're actually able to work a job bagging groceries, pushing carts, and sorting glass. He's lower than them on the totem pole.
And here’s the thing: they’re all pretty harmless. They’re just capped at a low IQ.

Chris has at least 3 violent offenses on his record that he willfully instigated. I’d take a drooling retard to just prop up a broom over some devious fucker with a history of violence and an evil streak with the arrest record to back it up.

It’s funny, years ago we considered Chris going to a group home as his “bad ending”. Now it’s like “..if he’s lucky..”

Fuck tv and videogames nigga gon be molesting everyone

OK, hypothetically speaking, let’s say Chris does get off with parole. Where will he even go? He can't go home, not with Barb there, can’t hold down a job, especially now that no one would hire him. He dosent have money to rent an apartment and can't make a living off of "art" and burned every possible bridge in his life.

it seems at this point either putting him in a facility or a group home would at least keep Chris off the streets.

White Knights and orbiters will give him some money but it will not be enough. I am guessing that will be beginning of the long awaited Hobo Saga

Chris isn't going to be doing much of anything because the second he starts causing trouble, he'll be restrained to a bed and pumped full of drugs to the point where he'll be practically braindead.

He's lower than them on the totem pole.

Everyone needs a sky to look upto and someone to look down on, even if what's down below is just more dirt.

Now it’s like “..if he’s lucky..”

Chris is the Uni-Tard, he's now fallen on all the cardinal points of the lolcow compass now it's passing through the lesser parts of the great Rose of WFT? So just when you think he's reached the Southern Pole he manages to find another way to expand into lands new and strange, and travellers far from home in strange lands often fall afoul of the cursed smile of Lady Fate.

It's not parole, it's probation. He would be subject to the terms that the judge sets, which would almost certainly involve not contacting Barb at the very least. Somehow I doubt that would last very long.

Is the pre-trial hearing happening now or did they skip it because autism?
