Summary: Ex-partner of keffals claims that he filed a false rape allegation against them in response to a feud over code for a HRT website (2014), and is planning to come forth sometime. When this ex attempted to contact keffals, they were instabanned from his twitch chat.

*I am also currently attempting contact with forum user @Otm Shank , as he also has substantial claims that he knew keffals IRL. I am looking to corroborate this evidence with him.

I think you overestimate how much "work" local authorities are expected to do in a case like this. There's probably some cursory training on maintaining chain-of-custody until a more qualified person takes over. Even that person is likely just going to open some programs from outside contractors that's going to look kind of like WinDirStat but "potentially illegal shit" will be a category. Maybe a few other things like looking for common programs used by criminals or querying logs. When the program says it's detecting felonious shit they'd probably need to forward it to the one place in the province with sophisticated techniques that actually do sophisticated work.

This is already a high profile case. Even if the mounties have an excuse, surely converting that raid into a collar looks a lot better than it being nothing at all. If the devices are in-custody and you are equipped to do this very simple task, why not find the time to do so in the few years before the statute of limitations expires? If you're not planning on it, why seize the devices in the first place?
