I managed to shoehorn Patrick into a real life conversation about bad comedians and I put on some of his stand up. I'd never actually made it through a full set of his before but we ended up watching three in a row and it turned into an endurance challenge.
His awful comedy doesnt get enough attention. He is less even less gifted at standup than writing. His material is jokes about star wars, bitter, unfunny musings about being divorced, and donald trump.

This one was particularly painful

His setups are too wordy and his delivery is so awkward, like a mushmouthed autistic child. He spends the majority of his set rambling about political goings on nobody cares about, so he can tee himself up for dumb punchlines that either don't land, or don't really make much sense on closer inspection. His "I think america has passed laws based on race, but i'm only 3/5ths sure" skit is Patrick on peak pseudo-cerebral form. What does it even mean? Are you trying to say you're a nigger? The full extent of his political humour is just crude word association. In his mind he's Dennis Miller with a clever quip, when in reality he is just fat.
