He's posted about doing a twelve hour shift before. He might have a job that gives him occasional late-night shifts, picked up a new/temp gig that's overnight, or he could be trying to pick up some early-morning Uber fares. I'm inclines to believe that him being up at that time is somehow job related, due to how desperate he is for money.
