Even well-known voice actor and real life actor Cedric Yarborough confirmed it on a podcast interview when asked about the reboot:

It's probably for the best since two key actors of The Boondocks have passed away. It wouldn't be the same without them. However, I would like a retry from the botched fourth season.

Yeh, it is probably for the best that they won't be rebooting the series for the "current times".

The Boondocks harsh satire is so effective because it didn't pull any punches. Modern day BD would most likely turn out to be total trash.

Not being able to stream it in Europe legally kinda bites though - and the DVDs for the complete series cost something like 60 dollars oof!

They would have ruined it anyway.

Also goddamn did Cedric Yarbrough get fat.

Have an hour long video about what this show did.

A video essay analysis of The Boondocks Animated Series, its legacy, and primarily its critique of suburban America.Fifteen years after its premiere, “The Boondocks” animated series stands the test of time as an undeniable classic, and there’s still more to say. So let’s talk about it...There’s a lot of really good content out there about different racial and comedic elements of this beloved show, but relatively not much attention paid to its namesake, the setting of the Boondocks. What’s the significance of taking the family unit of these characters and setting it in suburbia?

I forget that Jazmine, Tom DuBuios' daughter, is biracial. I see McGruder's intent in Huey's and Jazmine's relationship. Manipulation of racial constructs through media and naiviety.

Huey would totally get Jazmine into Antifa, wouldn’t he?
Huey's a Black nationalist, not a freedom fighter. They would CLASH against each other. Remember the lemonade stand episode?

Sometimes, I like to think that Uncle Ruckus is Aaron's self conscious just outright expressing his distaste for the modern American Black.

Jazmine actually likes/secretly has a crush on Huey, even if the latter essentially views her as just a splitting image of her father — very naïve and possibly used as a doormat for not knowing how to say “No”.

Plus, looking at the still images would never make what you say happen:

If anything, Jazmine is the type to have unrequited feelings for Huey, since he can barely keep track of Grandad and Riley.

If anything, I’d wish there were more episodes of Riley and Cindy. Those two almost seemed like they were on the same wavelength. Acting more like true scammers while emulating what they see in rap videos of today would be hilarious.

Remember that episode of "The Itis" where Ed Wuncler opens up a "soul food" restaurant and it ends up destroying the community around it?

Damn, that one episode has more political and social commentary than it has any right to.
“The Itis” was a very interesting title for an episode, since it subtly admitted that most black people suffer from high blood pressure and diabetes without being too in your face with it.

I still remember the famous line from Riley — “Damn, this is what crack must feel like.” — even after just taking one to two bites of a burger that Grandad made. It’s not a surprise that restaurant was shut down afterwards.
