Disaster Disney World Guest Spends $35,000, Says Trip Was a “Nightmare” - To put this in perspective, the cost used for this could have easily paid for a trip to Bora Bora at the Four Seasons for an entire week or longer

Disney World Guest Spends $35,000, Says Trip Was a “Nightmare”

A Walt Disney World Resort vacation is complicated. Between dining reservations, the limited Annual Passholder program, Genie+ and Lightning Lane, and the Park Pass reservation system, the Disney Parks experience has changed a lot in the last few years!

A recent Walt Disney World Resort Guest took to social media after her vacation to complain about her Disney Parks experience. In an archivedTweet, Amy Traficante (@AmyTraficante) wrote:

@WaltDisneyWorld @DisneyParks @disneyvacclub @Disney Worst Customer Service Experience Ever. 7 Days, $35,000, and every day was a nightmare. Ended on a low note when waiting in the @Guardians virtual que ride for 8 hours and then we’re told NO!!! Absolutely terrible!!!!
According to Traficante, she signed up for the virtual queue system for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT but could not ride after 8 hours of waiting for her boarding group. Though Traficante doesn’t clarify, it’s likely that the ride broke down and wasn’t available after the Guest’s boarding group was called.

Since archiving the Tweet, Traficante hasn’t commented publicly about her Walt Disney World vacation, and no Disney-operated Twitter account has responded to her complaint.

More on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is one of the largest fully enclosed rollercoasters in the world! It’s recommended for tweens, teens, and adults, with a height requirement of 42 inches. Following Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! at Disneyland Resort, it’s the second Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) themed ride at a United States Disney Park. From Disney:

Take off on an intergalactic chase through space and time with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

A World Beyond Belief

Begin your adventure by touring the Galaxarium—a planetarium-like exhibition showcasing the similarities and differences between Xandar and Earth’s galaxies. You’ll even get to discover some of the incredible wonders of Xandar and learn about their technology.

An Extraterrestrial Escapade

Just as you are about to reach the culmination of the tour, everything goes sideways, and you are called into action to help the Guardians of the Galaxy. Join Rocket, Groot, Gamora and Star-Lord on an urgent mission where you’ll rewind, rotate and head towards the action through an exciting space pursuit.

Ready for an awesome quest across the cosmos to save the galaxy? It’s all up to you!

Have you ever had a bad experience at Disney Springs, EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom?

even putting aside costs that reservations for everything shit is amazingly bullshit
I'm pretty sure I can get a couple of tickets free to WDW with my job, and I just don't care. Going and just fucking around Epcot, getting a big drink, peoplewatching, going on a ride or two that you wandered by and didn't have a line was great fun, but fuck that hyperplanning shit, that ruined the table service resteraunts first where if you wanted Canada it was like, half a year before your trip you'd have to get reservations.

Baby RoundBuns has developed an obsession with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and it breaks my cold, dead heart. I was only allowing him to watch dancing fruit and animations with classical music, alas I fell asleep one afternoon and fucking YouTube put on MMCH.

He fucking LOVES it. I'm hoping to break him of his love for Micky Mouse before he's more of toddler, but I don't have much hope. I tried to get him into Sesame Street, not realizing that it's more pozzed than anything else. I can't remember what little segment pissed me off but I remember thinking NO Not my Sesame Street too! I guess I'll try to read to him even more to offset the damn screen.

35 grand to go to Disney, though? That's insane. That's a down payment on a house! What is with these people?
Sesame Street was always woke/pozzed. It was created by hippies.

If you can afford to blow $35k, then hell go to fucking Vegas. That's basically Disney World for adults.
Vegas would give you more value for what you put in too. If you go on an off season, some of the fancy hotels on the Strip offer lots of markdowns, where a $400 per night room can now be around $100. The food definitely gets expensive, especially on the Strip, but it’s not too far to go places further out that cost less. It’s a lot easier to make Vegas budget friendly than it is Disney, in my opinion.

>waiting in line for eight hours for one ride
>waiting in line for eight hours for anything

What in the actual fuck is wrong with you?

It's a virtual queue, which I assume means you can walk around the park doing other things until you get called to the ride. She didn't actually stand in a line for 8 hours but is complaining like they did.

I think it wasn't waiting in line for 8 hours, but rather... one of those things where you sign up for a later use of the ride and you get a text from the ride that says; Hey, time to skip the line and get on.

I know Six Flags does something like that.

Hershey Park does something like that.

Why wouldn't Disney?

The hotels in Downtown/Freemont street are even cheaper. The area doesn't look as nice as the strip, but the city has definitely made an effort to clean it up and keep the more unsavory actors out, so it's not as bad as it might have been years ago. Plus you can find cheaper games Downtown.

The Pinball Museum is also easy on the wallet. If you’re any bit decent, you can continue playing for hours on just a few dollars. There’s also a lot of free entertainment, such as the Bellagio fountain show and the miniature monuments on the strip to look at. I’ve also heard people watching can be fun in Vegas too because of the types of people that go there.

You definitely see some characters in Vegas.

One great place to visit is the Mob Museum - we practically spent the whole day there.

i know i previously said this at one time in the disney thread we had(or was it the consoomer thread, i dont remember) but i went to Disney world years before it had gotten this bad and it still sucked balls. disney has got to be one of the biggest rip off and waste of time for a vacation. if you are looking for amusement park rides like roller coaster you have tons of better options out there that also cost a lot less. and if you dont care for roller coasters then spend your money to go somewhere nice.

for 35k i could go to Thailand and bang hookers till i could no longer walk. coming home with an STI would be preferable to going to disney world at this point.

Not only does it look less authentic, it looks crowded as shit. Why are you going to a tropical island just to spend a lot of your time at what looks like a regular hotel extended over the water?
Yeah, and at actual Bora Bora the water is crystal clear and the area isn't surrounded by a bunch of tacky urban shit.
