God, don't put CBD on your dog.
I'm in the industry. This shit is just barely made for human consumption with little regulation and thats why no one wants to actually tell someone to give their pet CBD.
Funny you mention that on the same day the weekly mini-newspaper for my immediate region had its usual ad from a pet supply store advertising CBD treats for dogs that features a dog with a big grin on its face. This reinforces my original thought that this was little more than a trendy gimmick with little to no actual benefit that could potentially do more harm than good.
I make money off this shit* and I'm still not enough of a stoner to tell people you can use it for everything.
It's nice to see someone in the field with a realistic voice of reason. In my part of Kiwiland, the cannabis industry is either viewed as a magic cure-all by supporters or the gateway to ruin by detractors with nobody willing to admit reality is somewhere in the middle because medical cannabis, like any other drug, might work for one person but not someone else.
Sadly, people such as Polissa pick and choose what they believe to fit their narrative and/or confirmation bias.
While its illegal to sell your snap whats not is bartering with them. A lot of folks do it.
Okay I'll buy you a couple steaks you get me cat food or even gas. It's a loophole. Its not cash.
Popissa could be doing this instead of grifting for the pet supplies.
Growing up, there was a neighbor struggling enough to get public assistance/welfare. When she was the only one available to babysit me in an emergency, my mom would "pay" her in non-cash ways such as offering to patch up the holes in her kids' jeans or buying the paper products she needed but couldn't afford on her own. That way, the neighbor received something useful or needed in return for helping us out.
Polissa won't do anything of this sort because #MutualAid that's truly mutual requires effort Polissa has no interest in expending for anyone else but herself.
This might be dumb as I don't drive so feel free to rate me dumb (I can't afford a car plus I'm a shit driver) but she's begging for fuel every other day. I know fuel is expensive but either her car is inefficient with fuel or, my theory, the money's for pot.
Assuming the grift isn't made up BS, my hypothesis is that she's only putting $5-$10 worth of gas in at a time and pocketing the rest (if not using it for her "herbal medicine"). Going by today's average gas price in the US, this would get her about 2 and a half gallons of gas (9 and a half liters). Assuming her vehicle gets shitty city mileage, my rough estimate is 37-50 miles (60-80 km) worth of driving for that much of a fill-up. One way or another, I'd agree that some of that money is being used for something other than gas if not all of it.
.also, who pays anyone "6.66 an hour" anyway
$6.66 seems like an odd and made-up number, indeed, but I've seen some restaurants give their experienced tipped waitstaff a raise where they get more than the minimum wage for tipped workers that still falls below the local minimum wage.
With Polissa however, I'd safely file this under "making shit up."
