General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Trying to go for the Korean audience now, I guess.

TBF that joke did make me laugh.
There are a fair amount of /vt/ users who also shit up Twitter and Reddit as well, so it's possible.

In general I think people gotta remember that some musicians just get dunked on. Anyone here who is old enough to remember Justin Bieber's height of popularity should also remember how so many people dunked on him for no real reason other than him just being kinda cringe. Calli falls into a similar category. The cultural appropriation stuff is dumb, but for a lot of people who are rap fans but not weebs her music will come off as cringe. That the recent tweet that made the rounds was a video of her performing RIP - a song which I think even Calli/Demondice fans would admit is fairly weak - doesn't really help.
It's just one of those things. It's cool to shit on Mori. Just like how it was cool to shit on Nickelback for a while. There's always a punching bag and Mori just happens to be the one for the vtuber scene.

Who are you referring to? Made me curious because I had not heard of Kobo's roommate being discovered yet. The usual websites are speculating this chick Rainych, damn, over 2 million subscribers! But Kobo is not following her on Twitter.

I am not entirely convinced, Rainych's english skills appear well above Kobo's. The voices are similar, but not entirely the same. It could be really good voice acting or a voice changer at work for that annoying Kobo brat voice.
I mean that girl from JKT48, a while ago I saw a video of her saying Kobo's phrase in what seemed to be an audition ("Let me be your sun to shine your day, ehe~")

I don't know if the video is fake, but at least her background matches more or less what Kobo has mentioned on stream.

Bruh, it literary says why in the screenshot, they are going private because she is going around taking down reuploads of her stuff so they going private until she calms down, they have been private since around some point last week or something.
Wait until she learns torrents exist.

Pippa in a week or so: "I lived, bith!"
It's OK, she tweeted, she's alive.
The Pippssiah has risen!
or
Just as I thought I was free, she drags me back in.

Also she's in pain:

Kronii is doing asmr, meanwhile Fauna builds a complex farm in Minecraft. What is wrong with this world.

On the other hand, IRyS gets pretty jealous, even being #1 isn't good enough for her:
I'm just watching this because I love me some Megaman. Goddamn, it is painful to watch. I'm only competent at the series despite my love for it, but there is no excuse for Chill Penguin's stage taking over an hour to beat. I get that Megaman can be hard at points, but seeing her forget how to do basic stuff like jumping & shooting and refusing to learn how to properly dash because "it feels weird"? I'm only at her finishing Spark Mandrill's stage and I've had to stop multiple times out of personal fan autism.

While ILUNA's numbers are pretty sad to see, especially considering the numbers and hype they had before, I wouldn't dismiss them entirely. We have had them for two weeks, so who knows what their numbers will look like within a month or two. On the flip side, I am pleasently surprised to see how well the stars boys are doing. They seem really geniune and seeing their success despite everyone's low expectations is nice to see and I hope they continue to do well.

Honestly Vesper streams at that perfect time for me during my lunch break in work, been nice having something chill but enjoyable to watch plus with the guys having that 1 hour time limit means not having to split watch streams, I honestly kinda hope he keeps the short style chats even after management removes the boys limiters

I must say I find the bringing up of ILUNA whenever talking about Tempus to be quite odd now we are removed from their overlapping debut weekend.

They're two separate things with two separate viewer pools and expectations on them who clearly cater to different people. I hope there is enough awareness for some to realise where the flaw in logic is when someone argues that the group they watch is 'more memorable' than the group they don't watch.

As a P.S., I think the reporting of ILUNA's viewership here is also being largely misconstrued: most of them are not struggling to break 1K at all. Only Aia currently evens out at around 2K or under. Kyo, Scarle, and Aster operate in the 2.5-4K range, Maria in 3-5K and Ren in 6-10K. These may very well go down, of course, but I struggle to see where the doom and gloom is coming from.

Rainych is too famous, I remember The Weeknd tweeting a cover she did of one of his songs awhile ago, and it seems other western artists have noticed her as well.

IIRC, Luna could only beat Chill Penguin without putting the game on Rookie Hunter mode.

Tribalfagging is discouraged.

Let's be honest here, viewership numbers don't really matter in the long run - heck, we have talents both from Niji and Holo who don't stream from months on end (effectively having 0 viewerships) yet they still get by fine and/or are still associated with the company. Merch sales is still king, and as long as you have viewers, you have simps willing to spend

And you, we don't need a Niji defense squad.

I’m torn about whether she’s good or bad at it. Comparing to myself, I imagine I took longer than ~10 total hours to beat the game the first time I played it and I grew up playing megaman 2 and 3 (going from those to a game where you ‘dash-jump-wall jump-dodge-while holding a charge shot’ is a pretty big leap, even though X isn’t the hardest one and that is not particularly necessary movement), but then there’s also the buff of chat being able to backseat all the secrets and weapon weaknesses, which cuts down on the difficulty a lot.

Basically my read is; the game looked easier than I remember, but she makes it look hard, but then she still somehow succeeds anyway. She’s very skilled at gaming in some aspects, and other times you wonder what the heck is going on in her head; classic IRyS

And if you think clearing the first stage took a while, did you see how long the intro stage took?
Besides, very few of these people are pro-gamers, occasionally being tortured is one of the reasons we’re here.

I wouldn't say they are underrated, aren't they getting better stream numbers than most of ID rn?
Magni and Vesper definitely (their stream are normally around 4 - 6k), Axel depend on game choice and Regis definitely not (around 2k) because of game choice or maybe because he hasn't find an audience yet. They are still in their honeymoon period so it's hard to really tell whether these number are going to be their usual numbers (for example Vesper chatting stream number has been going down with each stream). Yeah I know, it has been more than a week since their debut but they are technically a new branch so the period could be longer than usual so we have to wait to see whether if they can hold those number after a month.
