Annnnnnd this is how we know Polly Pocket sucks. Who  likes   candy corn enough to say it's their favourite?

I did, a couple times as a kid who didn't know better. It was like sugary plastic, imo
Who the fuck eats candy corn.
I fuckin love candy corn but only the good brands, in the fall. Seasonal thing.
Of course I only eat a handful rather than an entire 16 oz bag too.

9.1% tax? That's it? Christ, come to Euroland where we have all those magical social systems she dreams of, and start paying minimum twice that. On everything. Because that's what needs to happen to have shit like universal healthcare, education, subsidized child care, etc.
That’s near the lowest state tax rate even in the US. She sounds demented. It’s like a person in NYC decrying their public transport system. I kind of like that her views are so inconsistent, though. It’s more fun and surprising.

I have family in Europe and it’s 14% where they live. I’m often told by them of how much cheaper food is in my area even with all the inflation going on. Beef was prohibitively expensive last time I was there. Gas was the equivalent of $10 a gallon (fudging with conversions). Alcohol tax is insanely high to the point that people will stock up for later on booze cruises. Seriously. It’s cheaper to do a round trip ferry and buy crates of liquid courage than it is to go to Alko

Someone here looked it up and base tax in Alabama is 6%. The additional 3% is for roads and education funding.

Most of her purchases are food paid with EBT, too. So she doesn’t even pay that most of the time!

I just noticed that she mentioned only $1200 (single payer) stimulus checks. So either Josh and Polissa don’t file jointly or only Josh got a check because Polly was too lazy to do the non filer process. It’s possible she used Josh’s check for her own gain. Plausible considering that she already spends all his money. It’s all “Josh needs a job” despite that Josh is far more disabled just by looking at him.

"I need him [Josh] working"

You know,, I'm glad Polissa couldn't pop out some kids. Not just because they'd be another source of gibs for her, and that she'd care for them as well as her cats, and that she'd stuff them full of childhood obesity and diabetes, but also because she'd be one of those parents that takes out furniture loans and high interest payment plans in their name the second they turn 18.

Polissa angy that the CDC relaxed Covid guidelines

If dumb munchie cunts like Polly have their way, we’ll never go as close to pre pandemic as possible. A lot of munchies loved Covid because it made them look sicker (and don’t get me started on how abused long Covid got because of them trying to find another diagnosis to collect).

Also, think about it. How will Polissa get another stimulus check if we are moving on?

I was sitting outside, contemplating the universe, then suddenly, it hit me. If Polissa had taken those kids from her family the kids would be worse off than they are in a home. Been thinking about that for a bit, lolcows never permeate into my real life but polissa is different. I hate her guts so much.

There's a pretty easy way to avoid it, it's called eating normal healthy food that you mostly cook yourself.
But unhealthy food is more appealing to Polissa. (I do agree with you, but she won't eat anything healthy because it requires effort or it doesn't satisfy her cravings for junk).

She's allergic to red40 because it's just another unprovable munchie cause to help bolster her sick narrative.
I'll admit I've never heard of allergies to artificial dyes (not that it's not possible, but we know Polissa will claim anything for oppression points), but plenty of people have sensitivities to one or more of them. I have a sensitivity to another coloring, and I noticed a marked improvement once I did all I could to minimize how much I ate with that artificial coloring. It's difficult and takes discipline -- traits Polissa seemingly lacks, and she finds it easier to eath what she wants and then bounce and squeak about how rotten she feels.

Wanted to pay $1200 for a car in 2021
If someone wanted to sell me a used car for $1200, the first thing I'd do is ask what's wrong with it and give it a good looking over to see what I wasn't being told about it. I get that people with tight budgets can't always afford a decent used car, but one also has to do due diligence to make sure the car they're getting isn't going to be a money pit when it comes to costly repairs.

Earliest reference to red 40 on Facebook was May

Spending your money (or rather other people's money) on cheap chinese products from amazon is not helping the sutuation either Polly.

So Polly is willing to starve herself to curb inflation (x)? Because those companies make all her staple foods and she's certainly not going to buy fresh and learn how to cook (Hot Pockets are owned by Nestlé too, a frozen food does not exist that isn't owned by one of these parent companies) But rules for thee, not for me.

Sales tax in much of Leafland ranges 11% to 15%. Most everything except for food staples/essentials (aka 'food Polissa doesn't buy') is taxed at that rate. And does Alabama collect a bottle deposit? Because here, that 6 pack of soda would have 60 cents tacked onto the price for the deposit.

ETA: the tax situation/the fact that they may not be filing jointly: can a married couple do that without catching shit from the government in burgerland?

Alabama has some of the lowest recycling rates in the country. I mean, some people will recycle aluminum cans for extra beer money, but a common thing it isn't. Most of the states that do bottle deposits are blue states. If Alabama does bottle deposits, that is news to me.

It's an option to file jointly or separately if you're married in the US. Joint is preferred but some couples prefer their finances to be totally separate (or one works and the other doesn't a la Josh and Polly) so it's "better" to just account for one person come tax time.

In the US, couples have the option to file "Married Filing Separately" (MFS) which means each person files their own return reporting income received and deductions made in their name only. When filing a MFS return, the return must include the spouse's name and social security number. I imagine this is for matching purposes to be sure the spouse files a return when required to do so. Another requirement for couples electing to file MFS returns is that both most itemize their deductions or take the standard deduction; they can't file one return with itemized deductions and the other return with the standard deduction. In my state, couples filing MFS have to combine their incomes to determine eligibility for the state's property tax credit because the credit is based on total household income.

Some tax preparers go as far as offering (whether complementary or for a fee) an analysis for married couples showing what their taxes would look like if they file jointly or MFS so they can decide which is better for them.

An aluminum collection service for beer cans in a college town is exactly the sort of thing a hardworking, salt-of-the-earth-type redneck would do. They throw so much money away not taking advantage of their location.
A place where I lived had refunds for cans and bottles, so we would separate out the deposit items from recycling and leave it as a separate bag on the curb each week. Some people complained about the "bums" rummaging through recyclables and making a mess, but honestly I think that was cats or raccoons. The simplest solution was to leave that separate bag, and each time a guy with a shopping cart would come along and pick it up before daybreak to take to the depot.
Even here we have guys in redneck trucks (you know, no panel matches, 4 different tires) who go around on "metal weeks" to pick up appliances...and if you need to get rid of something big like a stove or washer or something, will come get it for free so they can scrap it.

whew this thread was a fun ride. it's a shame po'lissa won't ever listen to any money saving tips re: food budget when it's pretty obvious that she eats for pleasure, rather than to be functional/for survival. her deciding to indignantly defend and stand by her jimmy dean breakfast bowls whilst ignoring all critiques of her animal hoarding and begging was golden and just reinforces her thought processes when it comes to food - po'lissa want additive and artificial flavouring packed junk food NOW, no preparing of a much healthier and cheaper similar meal for her!

i'd love to know where she got her big allergy to red-40 from - is this even something that can be tested for? because i bet it's heavily played on for both munchie points and gimmies. i didn't see her being scared of red-40 when grifting for anniversary applebees for her and joh - i doubt she looked up to see if they had a full ingredient list for their meals, and cross-contamination occurs heavily in kitchens anyway so. it's any easy excuse for her to not get her lazy ass to a food bank, because 'muh allergies;.

has either joh or po'lissa ever mentioned what type of diabetes joh has? surely they'd know, given that treatment is different for different types. i had him mentally chalked up to having MODY, which has multiple types, most of which are not insulin dependent, but it seems like either they don't know or they just don't care to mention. it's certain that he has some form due to his decaying physical state, but i find the fact that they haven't specified which type, especially since they seem to share every other medical condition they have with the internet (see: yeast rolls), it's not like they have any sense of shame.

po'lissa shouldn't be allowed to use the term 'starving' or 'hungry' unless she's directly talking about her animals - no one at her weight is starving, atall. she has the fat stores to sustain her. you cannot be morbidly obese and 'starving'. it also looks like she's been a fat cunt since she was 19 so all these years of supposed poverty and deprivation and muh government is evil has not stopped her shoving food down her fat throat. she has remained fat whilst her 'much loved' soon to be divorced husband has had his body eaten away at by mystery beetus and her 'rescue' animals are borderline skeletal.

looking forward to the upcoming hysterectomy arc and the milk that will flow from it; semper fi @toilet_rainbow for sharing this absolute shitstain of humanity with us!

My province has a bottle deposit/refund, but these days, I don't need the money from them. So I put them out curbside and someone takes them, I hope it helps them out a little bit.

When I was a teenager, the chest freezer that my family had, which was older than me, died. Emptied it out, drained it, put it out to the curb and someone took it. They either scrapped it or used it to store livestock feed (the seals keep rodents out, or so I'm told).

I would have asked that 12-15 years ago because that was a really cheap price even back then because it meant you might be able to negotiate further down for not obvious reasons. You really have to know what you are looking at with used cars. Records, good title, having some knowledge of how a car works besides put gas in it and go are crucial to making a good decision. Some used cars are cheap really just because an owner bought a new one and wants the old one gone with minimal issues. Sometimes it is a fucking trainwreck and that's why they want to get rid of it. Black transmission fluid, milkshake oil, CV axle boots broken and dry, struts compressed and bled dry, car is flood salvage, electrical gremlins (the absolute worst because these are so hard to diagnose sometimes), leaks everywhere, massive frame rot or damage, bad ball joints and tie rods (very dangerous at hwy speeds), rotted tires (same danger), etc.
