General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Pippa comes down from her pain meds and immediately decides to weigh in on another round of vtweeters seething, this time about being a vtuber is expensive and fuck capitalism because these vtweeters literally feel entitled to the work of artists/riggers and the highest quality models to make up for their lack of personality and success.

A few of them will probably seethe at her again and try another flaccid attempt to cancel her.
She's right though.

A lot of these vtweeters sit on their ass doing nothing but post tweets and then cry about shit being delayed or talking about how expensive everything is while, again, do nothing about it. There is also absolutely nothing wrong with being a pngtuber or having low quality shit when the most important thing is having an actual personality and actually streaming.

Especially as indies, there is no reason for them to do debut streams. It's fun and all to plan for that but it's consistency in streaming itself is what's most important, not how fucking amazing and awesome their model looks or rig is.

You don't even need a phone, you can start streaming whenever. These assholes need to lower their expectations on shit and actually fucking do it.

I saw this this morning and she's right. People always think they need to launch their thing with a perfect and fully completed product, and if they can't start start with some massive up front investment it's not worth it. The reality is there are a ton of ways to bootstrap things and most things you see that are big started out way smaller with a way more fucked product and eventually grew into what they are today. The company that overtakes Amazon or Google, isn't going to launch as a clone of those sites with some huge initial spend, it's going to be some company selling something retarded to a niche market that eventually expands its scope enough to be real competition.

One of the things that stands out with many of the vtweeters is being openly socialist, going on about respecting the dignity of workers and paying fair wages.
But the moment they personally have to hire a worker and pay a fair wage, talk just like the caricature of capitalism they criticize and pointing it out usually ends in denials and seething.

Curious to see how they deal with actual aggression. I might have missed some happenings but I swear most of the stuff I saw from Fubuki, Polka, Anya, and Koyori were basically trying to make a living just running around goofing off more than blowing each other up. Even when they tagged along it was mostly for the show. So I don't think some level of fairly neutral is entirely off the table.
Didn't a bunch of the JP girls reach an agreement about not raiding people who aren't online at the time?

Socialists, communists, and even fascists, are just people who think they're brilliant but the world just doesn't acknowledge them. The hiring process sucks regardless if you're the one doing it or the one going through the grind, working for a boss sucks, and trying to build shit is a nightmare. Worse yet, if you're ever successful people will claim it's just luck or assume you started with some advantage and were always doing great without seeing all the bullshit behind the scenes that built up to where you are today.

Regis: 'I'm such a gamer, haha, maybe I should audition. Nah, that's just a joke."
Magni: "You're already in, brother."

Regis was talking about the Niji audition, wasn't it?"
Even Regis understands that you'll be more successful as a male in Niji than in Holo. I hope he does audition and get in so that it'll be a wake up call for Holo to improve their support for their male talents

It's going as well as you can expect.

Choose your stream BGM. 🔥

These people want to be vtubers, right? How come they haven't searched up "how to get a free vtuber model?" I would imagine that would literally be the first thing people look up for a model, and there aren't a shortage of options. Pixiv's VROID is free, and you can plug it into OBS via VSeeFace, both of which are also free. It's just that these fucking zoomertubers don't want to put the effort into being successful.

Bold of you to think these kind of people will accept doing any kind of works

He totally should, it'll be Niji's Final Solution to avenge Moruru.

B group of the Nijisanji Koshien/baseball tournament is starting in one minute, along with the EN watchalong on Luca's channel.

You know, I completely forgot glomp was a term that was used, so that's kind of a weird blast from the past there. Also does this mean you're auditioning to be vtuber? If you are I think Pippa has a point about the industry being too insular in that it's all about singing, because while there's reason for it to focus on that, I think there's way more potential for other niches in content that would appeal to people like me who don't really care about the music scene.

Wait, is that actually Pippa? Her voice sounds strange if it is.

She probably will be out for at least a week, and she mentioned not being able to eat solid food for two weeks. If they had to do any kind of suturing that will make it hard to talk for a while because it's not only painful but it can rip open the wounds. I had the fun of experiencing that as a kid and it was a great way to learn how to speak without moving your lips or mouth much. I do feel bad for her, because it's such a painful thing and talks her out of her job when she was really gaining some traction, so I hope someone is there to take care of her as this kind of thing can be rather soul crushing.

/glomps u!!!

XD

Those who do not remember the past are doomed to repeat it.

So with Pomu ending up puking on this stream (muted of course), it never cease to amaze me the amount of "please don't mute it..please let us hear it" that floods chat but when you call people out on liking fetishes they act like they don't like it. What is it with the west community (mostly seen it here) liking this kind of thing? I know a few holo girls puked on stream before but..was that an awakening for people or something? lol
Its not a fetish of mine but hearing the person puke makes the moment more real. That clip of Hachama puking is great just because of how real it feels.

People actually watch these leechers? They're the same as the people who make narrations of Reddit threads but in a vtuber coat of paint.
Yup. Thats why I dont bother clicking or watching those.

She does seem a little more touchy than usual:

Why even bother replying? For fucks sake Keeki. Mute and ignore.

I don't know how I feel about this. I think PNG-tubing is the way to go for most atleast to create content. Few people have asked me when im going to debut and whatnot and I have been pushing it back quite a bit. First to learn about video editing and how Youtube works and also to start growing an audience so that I don't have to start from 0. Unless you get really lucky or if you have a company to back you up, you won't be streaming to more than 3 people. Girl I know tried once and didn't really like the character or the audience she was creating content for and after about 100 subs she decided to start again. The problem is she wants to "redebut" but currently has no content out. Told her to make anything and atleast create something because if not she will be streaming again to a total audience of 2 people and it will take her a year to hit the 100 sub mark.

On the flipside you dont really need that many subs to get into a corpo if your content is good. Past Life Mika from NijiID had about 290 subs. There are many other <5,000 sub people that get picked up by corpos.

That is always a great irony about it. Also like every internet content creator millionaire is a socialist until they have to pay taxes and they find any and every way to avoid paying them.

I blame vshojo and indies that get a constant stream of uber good models for spreading this misconception that the key to success is a good model and nothing else, new indies just see these big people that they have to compete with get these insane and expensive models and they just think "damn, i have to get a model just as good to even stand a chance!", also a lot of vtuber normalfags are literally just drugged up on coomer shit and think that the only appeal is big bouncing titties.

Mandatory "the model matters too guys sorry for being so hyperbolic hurr hurr"

Actually this ties in with a long term issue i have had with the perception of vtubing that a lot of people have nowadays, and it's not fair to call them "normalfags" because they are in every fanbase and i think this way of thinking is very prevalent.
It is the perception that many people have that the only thing that makes a vtuber what they are is the model, that nothing else matters, and honestly that's hard to deny, if it's not the model then what is it?
But i have always been of the opinion that there must be more to it, if not then you would be telling me it's just a dumb fucking gimmick.
A lot of people compare vtubing to wrestling and i think that is a fair assessment. But wrestling isn't just about the costumes, it's about the persona, the kayfabe, the storylines and pretending to be something you aren't, that is the heart and soul of both vtubing and wrestling alike, just like wrestling isn't only buff dudes smacking eachother, vtubing isn't just
"streamers with live2d models".
These fags on twitter don't understand that, they think it's just a dumb gimmick. "If I get the model i can be just as successful as the holos and nijis", "they are just lucky while i am not". This fucking flawed, retarded way of thinking is what makes all of these people not get what it really is, and it has permeated this community ever since the boom and it pisses me the fuck off.
The model is just a mask, the character is what you make it to be, and that is important. You are important, your personality, interactions and experience, not the model, i hope this industry never gets reduced to that shallow interpretation of what it means to be a vtuber and what it takes to be fucking great at it.
