General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Pippa comes down from her pain meds and immediately decides to weigh in on another round of vtweeters seething, this time about being a vtuber is expensive and fuck capitalism because these vtweeters literally feel entitled to the work of artists/riggers and the highest quality models to make up for their lack of personality and success.

A few of them will probably seethe at her again and try another flaccid attempt to cancel her.
As much as I like shitting on vtweeters (who doesn't?) They do occasionally have a point, and this is one of them in a way, because given just how much trash has flooded the Vtubing scene since it blew up out west a lot of people do expect a quality model (read: Coomerbait) before they even give a chubba a chance lately, and if you're a png tuber? Gl being considered a "vtuber" lol. We went through a whole arc of people using those "$22 models" where there were literal boycotts of vtubers using them. I agree it's not too expensive blah blah, but I honestly can't really take a now corp (whether big or small) backed person's opinion seriously, since it's a different climate than when even she started out. Back when she got her start you normally didn't have people shit on pngtubers or even "low quality" models, it was fresh enough. Nowadays it's like you have actual vtubers and aliexpress vtubers, and we all know what reputation aliexpress has lmao. I still agree vtweeters normally just sit around doing fuck all, but there's some merit that if you want to get out of 0-3 view land, the first thing people are attracted to is what they see and that can't be denied. It can't carry you fully but we've all been to a point in browsing indies the most interesting model caught our eye.

Since another "Case study" would be how people immediately shit on or outright refuse to watch men using female avatars, e.g "this is such a great model but it's wasted on male behind it" or "this is such a sexy model but it's wasted on a female behind the male avatar." It's a no win scenario now that the market is just over-saturated and as great of a content creator you are, you need to either have a great model to catch intitial interest, people don't consider you "clout chasing" if you network or get blessed by the algorithm gods and people choose to give you a chance rather than outright blocking some "who?" popping up on their feeds out the blue.
A large part of Artemis' initial numbers was because of a very extensive campaign of pre-debut shilling on SNS, often by accounts using very similar wording. The same applies to the first wave of posts trying to downplay the poor entertainment value of his after the first streams happened too. It's obvious that he networked hard and had a significant backing beforehand - probably a dedicated Discord clique.
The model did carry him quite a lot though but I think what definitively killed his momentum was the holopiracy case and the obnoxious way he'd try to insert himself into other streamers' chat.
Honestly, even the piracy didn't kill him. Just him having literally nothing going for him other than: "Oh hey btw I'm gay *disconnects from discord call*" being his literal personality. Even Zen using his TTS shit he at least has something going for him. A big bonus was Artemis got in early too but he's less obnoxious with inserting himself than people like Shoto or FeFe.

I'm not a big baseball fan but it's hard not to get invested in Koshien, especially now that EN is much bigger and there's more people to get hyped with.

It started out as a dumb project for Shiishii and Tenkai to play some PowerPro and has turned into this colossal event with major sponsorship deals. The fan art tag is absolutely insane with big industry artists and V-Tuber illustrators getting in on it, and it's easy to root for a team based on your favourite members because absolutely all of them (except those who aren't active) are part of it.

The month-long Eikan Nine series creates anime-esque side stories for fans to get invested in: such as Mayuzumi Kai's farewell to the company, or Salome's god-tier pitching etc. Last year had Pomu Rainpuff hit a game-winning Home Run in the finals a day before the real Pomu returned from surgery.

Now with the rise of EN, there's 25K-ish people all sat together watching Luca and Alban argue with Selen and Enna as their characters play against one another. Shit's just fun to participate in. Ultimately if you're not interested in the game then that's the beginning and end of it, but it's not hard to see why the community band together around it.
As more livers get added to the mix, more viewers from their respective fanbases join in to watch. Imagine in 3-6 years time there will be 500K-1M viewers watching an AI baseball final.

They'll have to expand the partaking teams to 10 if Niji continues to grow at it's current rate.

A rather interesting clip popped up in my recommended.

Fuwa Minato dragging Lauren Iroas onto his radio show to act as a counsellor over his half-year of mistakes.

Not the kind of thing I can say I'm accustomed to seeing. Normally it would be buried and suppressed until people forgot or moved on, but Fuwacchi wanted to take a more direct approach to clearing the air.

Aloe shown on Nene's stream, front and center
Everyone on chat went wild

Also Pink woman schedule confirming collabs with the boys this week (I'm stupid or is this sooner than usual? has it really been a month?)
Maybe it has to do with the fact there is only 4 of them so the ban is shorter?

Edit: meemaw cover is here
22 days since Altare's debut. Laplus got out of collab jail at 26 days, but that at least rounds up to 1 month. Four is the standard for HoloStars gens (I think) and ID3 only had three, so it's probably not about how many members Tempus has, unlike IRyS' case.

Very nice cover. The description says Shiina produced it in 3 days, with 12 hours for learning the song, recording it, drawing the MV art and sending the lines for mixing.

Say it fast: "Eye Juice Lust Thug Aim."
There's no streak to break after Vesper beat you to it.

Related to lewd stuff, Lui is going to play Catherine Fullbody
Did any Holo talk about getting perms for this before?
