There is always the Beauty Parlor Off Topic subforum if you want to make something like that. I do like the advice we’ve given out to each other in this thread.

Ugh. Quick, gimme a laugh-

Haha much better.

So not only does she still think that she’ll be in the hospital for up to 6 days now, but she wants Josh to skip work to take care of her. Josh was hired July 25, by the way. Guess he didn’t make a month, after all
If she really ends up in the hospital that entire time and he stays with her….who is caring for the animals?

It’s not even their car. She’s borrowing her dead dad’s car from her cousin

(Christmas gift my ass, I remember that borrowed tweet)

This also implies that that poor snake is only remembered when she needs it for gimmes.

She bitched about not having a car for two years straight on Facebook. That dump will require a huge spoiler cut.

It is rare for someone just starting a job to be able to take family leave or a weeks vacation. I guess he could have made plans with his boss beforehand but most places need their employees to work. I get the impression Polly is a lot of the reason Josh’s work history sucks.

She thinks it's possible she'll be in the hospital for 6 days? She's a lunatic.
I was in the hospital last year for a very serious illness, bad enough that I wasn't allowed out of bed, and they only kept me 6 days.
She'll be lucky if she's there overnight. She's 100% going to fake some reason they can't discharge her and she'll expect Joh to be by her side every minute. He can kiss that job goodbye.

To be fair, I think Josh's work history is on both of them equally. Between her munchie behaviour and his uncontrollable rage, I'd say it's a 50/50 split on his job losses.

Did she not live in Alabama when she posted this?

@Pudgy Bear Claws agreed, she won’t stay more than two days tops. I don’t see her needing any longer than a woman whose had a C-section which is 2 days. Heck I had a C-section with complications and was sent home at the two day mark. They really don’t want you there longer than you need to be.

no way did these buffoons plan ahead in any practical way like informing the boss before - the only planning ahead done was po'lissa's grift list of unneeded, tacky 'hysterectomy recovery' shit - hell, she didn't even make sure she had enough gas in the tank to get to the damn hospital. going into a job interview and saying 'well i will need x and y off' is a good way to not get employed as well - asking for time off before you even get the job is risky, and with joh's sketchy job history, helps make him look super unreliable. the hospitality sector, at least where i am, is fucked and desperate for employment at the moment, but people are still reluctant to take on people who come across as unreliable as usually it ends up being a waste of time, money and resources to train them only for them to fuck off a few weeks later.

tl;dr: josh is losing that job if he thinks he's going to be given a cute little 6 day vacation 3 weeks into his employment

How is their power bill so high when they don't have A/C?
Her electric bill was also in the $200s last month. It’s been hot but even with the heatwave we’ve had that is extreme. Especially since she claims she doesn’t have proper a/c.
Their house is old as shit with barely any insulation and shitty windows. They are running window units which are less efficient than central AC. Florence also has their own municipal electric so I'm betting that all of their city utilities(water, trash, etc..) are bundled into one bill.

Yeah, I've been racking my brain trying to think of a good reason she might be in for two days, much less six. Even Chantal, who was a gas giant of comorbidities, went home on the same day.

The only reasons I can come up with for why she claims she'll have an extended stay are: first (and most obviously), for the grift, thinking other people are stupid enough to believe she'll be in the hospital for 2-6 days, and thus cough up more money/gifts out of sympathy; or two, someone in her family had a non-laparascopic hysto decades ago that involved a multi-day hospital stay, told her all about it, and she's honestly stupid enough to believe that's how it will be for her, never mind that she's no doubt been told that she will be out no later than the following morning.

I'm inclined to think it's the first, because she's been shifty as fuck all along, and she's enough of a Dunning-Kruger exemplar to think she's being smart when she's not.

But she's also the sort to believe she's so uniquely disabled by her PCOS and Fibro that she'll have to stay in the hospital longer, no matter what the silly doctors say. So that's also a possibility.

Either way, the hospital wants her the fuck out as quickly as possible, and I expect reeing about eugenics or genocide against the poor and disabled when that happens. Never mind reality; Polissa's life in that filthy, cat-reeking hovel is shitty enough that she's looking forward to a hospital stay as a mini-vacation from it all, and won't be happy to be denied it.

She'll be lucky if she's there overnight. She's 100% going to fake some reason they can't discharge her and she'll expect Joh to be by her side every minute. He can kiss that job goodbye.
Even when she goes home, she's going to find reasons why she needs Josh with her 24/7. She is exactly the sort to call him constantly while he's at work and beg him to come home just because she's lonely and has no capacity for enduring discomfort on her own. And Josh appears to have an unhealthy dependence upon her, and an inability to say no, but of course it will be his employer's fault for firing him.

A family member went in for a hysto. 60+, fibroids, ended up with the full cut open and complications, and they only kept her for two nights. There's no good reason to keep Polissa, unless she creates one. Which I wouldn't put past her, since she is all ready for that extended stay.

She does call her grandma Mamaw, which is utterly dumb to me but is a hick thing. So I think you’re right.

lol
She could always have Josh stay home so the pets are cared for and not have to buy him hospital food.

Seriously though who is caring for the pets? I know cats you can fill a few bowls of food and water, set out extra litter trays and they’re ok but what about poor Dobby? He just starves and has to shit in the house?

That was my thought, and why would her cousin get her dad's car? A grandfather makes much more sense.

Plus, at least in these parts, a mid-2000s Impala or Monte Carlo is a very 'grandpa' car, especially if grandpa doesn't have a lot of money.

~30-some years ago, my mother went in for one, had the full cut done. They kept her for two nights. Hell, when my cousins had their babies within the last five years, they were all sent home the next day. Hospital's gonna discharge her as soon as they can, because they need the beds.

I'm starting to wonder if we should have a thread with resources to avoid grifting if you need some money, things like what you listed. It would help the people who genuinely don't want to grift but are struggling.

It would be optimistic to expect lolcows - especially grifters such as Polissa, among others - to take this kind of advice, especially advice posted here. However, Kiwis who are more receptive and actually want to get every hand up they can when money is tight might appreciate seeing what's out there.

Why am I willing to bet "Leta" was a person who insisted people had to follow the CDCs guidelines early on during COVID when they were still vague, confusing, or conflicting. Interesting that under the president of choice, she now feels the CDC isn't doing enough when it eased its recommended restrictions in light of the fact subsequent COVID variants aren't always as severe except to those with underlying medical conditions.

In the bigger picture, it shows how prevalent the attitude is with Polissa and others that they'll only believe what fits their narrative - facts and logic be damned.

It is rare for someone just starting a job to be able to take family leave or a weeks vacation. I guess he could have made plans with his boss beforehand but most places need their employees to work.
This can happen in the right situation and job market. Josh might have been able to take a day or two off to help Polissa get to and from her surgery, but I can't see an employer letting him take a full week off less than a month into his job especially if his job history and performance is sub-par. Em,ployers are more willing to give breaks and benefits of the doubt to people who prove they can, will, and do work and be part of the "team" or office culture.

Between her munchie behaviour and his uncontrollable rage, I'd say it's a 50/50 split on his job losses.
Hand in hand with the previous paragraph, employers won't keep someone who is too much drama. If someone wants time off more than time on the job, no matter how legitimate the reason, they will either be fired or get as few days/hours as possible to send them the message that they're not seen as someone the company can rely or depend on. If Josh is as angry offline as he was here during his cameo appearance here, it wouldn't be good for him and his efforts at employment.

Don't fool yourself. Dobby is eating cat food.

And shitting in the house, just like all the cats, because you know those litter trays never get scooped.
