Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
The only thing that these "urbanists" have in their favor is that they (rightfully) think self-driving cars are dumb. Anyone who wants self-driving cars are massive cucks who think they can have their freedom cake and eat it too. You might as well take public transport by that point instead of this longass roundabout way of lessening car crashes or whatever.
But without self-driving cars, how are we going to get the millions of kulak dissidents off the streets and into the happy fun time camp? Seriously though, imagine what a repressive regime could do with one of these. Say a racial slur or any criticism of a politician and suddenly you're locked in your car while it's getting filled with carbon monoxide that's been redirected from the engine. No doubt the powers that be would masturbate furiously to such an idea.
Very often you can shoot down their arguments by vouching for motorcycles for personal transport. they cause less congestion, get the best fuel mileage out of motorised transport, they can filter through traffic in most states, and you can park something like 10 motorcycles in the space of 5 cars. But they do not want to acknowledge this.

None of them consider the elderly either when going on an anti car rampage, or the fact that up to 5 people travelling to a destination benefit a car, or workers needing to haul tools to a site, or insulation from bad weather etc etc the car and mass transportation revolutionised the world and theyre seething about it
Don't forget their Amazon Prime Next Day Delivery, oh wait that's owned by a corporate entity so it's okay.
ITT carfags and urbanfags argue why their opponent's viewpoint is shit and why theirs is better

This picture sums up any internet forum thread with at least two differing opinions.
You don't need a license to walk
Don't give the government any ideas.
Not owning a car makes you "lower" because big corporations in tandem with the government decided to curate an environment that makes owning one of their products give you freedom of movement. When in fact it is probably one of the biggest gaslighting campaigns in history to give you the illusion of freedom.
"The corporations are ruining the earth!"

There's a Carlos Mencia routine regarding guys with this viewpoint but I don't remember the name of the episode.
I'm surprised proponents of this "movement" haven't been cancelled as ableist.
You don't need to walk, the government will provide transportation for you.

Good effort OP, but it's looking like this thread should have just been created in mass debates. It's not even 10 pages in and the thread is infested with car cucks and bike betas slapfighting mixed with political sperging, and it looks like it's only going to get worse.

Arguing over transportation is autistic as fuck, I don't care which side you're on, you're a clown.

Maybe there can be a rule that arguing here gets you threadbanned? I really don't care to hear debates, I've heard too much shit already from the rest of the internet. The point is to laugh at retards on the internet.

Maybe you could include a disclaimer in the OP to clarify that this isn't a debate thread, and link the bughive threads in Autism Thunderdome as a containment for debating/slapfighting? If the TDS and TES threads can still work I see no reason why this one can't.

Cars and car infrastructure can be ugly and have safety issues. People without cars can be screwed over when a city is car-centric.

But cars allow mobility. A modern world without cars means more centralized public transportation run by government or corporation.
Exactly. If you want a more equal society, you’ll want to increase mobility, as well as ensure everyone is armed. The more mobility people have, the more well armed everyone is, generally the more egalitarian a society is.

It’s why nomadic pastoralists were amongst the most free people of all time. They all knew how to hunt, they could just pick up their shit and leave, so it was hard to police them by force.

But they don’t want people to be well off. They don’t want the human condition to improve. They don’t want others to be free. They want others to live how they want them to live. They can’t be reasoned with.

Also, I look forward to this movement increasing in power amongst democrats. Anti car sentiment will only push more latino, black, and working class men to the right.

The problem is that this thread is specifically about a community that has an opinion on cars. People in this forum have their own opinion on cars, and will argue over it. If you were to ban arguing, you would have to ban not only the people defending urbanism, but also the people shitting on urbanism, which defeats the purpose. Also I don't think it's threadbannable to have a dissenting opinion or to go against the popular narrative.

That's why I said that this probably should have gone into mass debates instead. It's like the Trump Derangement Syndrome thread, the topic is political and a magnet for varied opinions which will lead to arguments.

There's a reason the TDS/TES threads are in mass debates. This thread seems to have been intended for community watch, but if we go with the example of the TDS/TES threads, it belongs in mass debates. Most community watch threads don't have half the thread filled with people sperging about why the community in question is right/wrong instead of focusing on their antics.

Holy shit thank you for making this. I genuinely fucking hate these people and how they ALWAYS demand shit like this. "much urbanism" and come up with the most insane shit. Considering the fact that "Not Just Bikes" literally lives in the Netherlands, a place which is a part of a WEF plan to make a "smart city" which is a direct result of the protests and the CO2 cap in the Netherlands.

there is also this fucking insane shit that people like this believe in on the subreddit, this sort of mindset is far and wide (and in the dearest of lolcows closest to my heart)

This thread is just new and hasn’t settled down yet. I remember when /r/antiwork’s thread was first created there were a lot of people arguing about whether or not the movement had any legitimate points until Doreen showed that they were all 100% serious and retarded. I feel a similar thing will happen here once everyone gets the arguments out of their system and starts visiting places like /r/fuckcars and those YouTuber’s comments and posting the autistic insanity that they find. Even the dumbest arguments in this thread are better than the typical ones in the communities this post is about.

I'm glad you mentioned those fucktards who go around and deflate people's tyres. They got my uncle, who's a tradesman struggling to make ends meet and couldn't go out to his jobs for a few days and a few hundred quid out of pocket because they fucked his valve up.
Cunts. Their logic is as infallable as those retards who glued themselves to oil paintings in a gallery, without realizing that oil paint isn't made from fucking crude oil.

While NJB is highly lolcow adjacent (given his association with Vaush and Keffals,) I don’t think he is a lolcow at all because none of his beliefs or behaviors are laughable or eccentric (yet.) However Adam Something and r/fuckcars do qualify given the insane beliefs they have about commie blocks and cars respectively.

I do believe in stronger public transport and better city design in the United States, however I do not want densely packed cities like we’re a bunch of fucking Third Worlders. In fact, they should focus on making cities less dense and more spacious.

Maybe delineate it by "urbanite bughive proponents are lolcows" and just hammer forward people disagreeing- "This thread isn't for debating the concept, if the people who disagree are so lulzworthy go make your own 'cager/carbrain/etc' thread."

Between antiwork and fuckcars, the manchild movement is really covering a lot of ground. When is r/bottlefeeding and r/fuckchores going to get big?
I'm hoping to see a condensation of all these adult baby political movements into one solid uniparty rallying around the cry "Return to the cradle". I really want to see it take off and have political action committies demand biden give out federal nap times.

Now, I can understand not wanting cities and shit to be full of traffic all the time, but this shit goes way off the deep end. Vandalizing random people's cars isn't going to do anything but paint a large target on your back, and these dipshits aren't even considering how products are going to be moved around the country. Unless their idea is to replace all the trucks with horse drawn carts or something similar. Haven't looked at anything beyond the beginning of the thread just yet, so I don't know how asinine their ideas are about tractors and other farming vehicles.
