You get no argument from me on that. Marx was an average economist and a terrible humanist. In order for his vision to have worked mankind would need to be, in effect, reeducated to accept and go with this new paradigm. And that's not happening. That's because Marx's revolutionary model is a complete fantasy and inevitably leads to such results when anyone attempts to enact it in reality, just like using voodoo to cure cancer inevitably leads to dying of cancer. This defect really can't be hand-waved away by claiming it isn't real cancer curing voodoo.
Communism is a failure in both Marx's version and the ones we got. I never said otherwise. I just said there has never been a true communist country ever. If communism was the one system that truly worked we'd all be communist. Capitalism has its faults and its problems and it's not perfect but... it's still the best system that we have.No. Communism is just a failure. The whole "REAL Communism has never been tried!" meme is just a cope by Pinko faggots who can't accept that Communism has no hope of working on the scale of a country. It can only work on a small scale of a community or city, and only if everyone is fully on the same page.
It's a "poor" mindset and one that will keep you poor for the rest of your life. Can't manage money.
This is the mindset of government execs: if I saved money this fiscal year, the power that be will see that my team can run on less money so they'll give me less next year. The idea with these people is, "I need to spend it all or else next month I get less". So they spend all their money. No attempt to save, no attempt to break free from their position
Marx, following Hegel, is an Idealist in Philosophy's sense. He believes that theories determine reality (instead of the other way round, that reality determines the validity of theories, the way science operates). To be fair Marx did a lot of historical research and was well informed of the international situations of his time, but with his Idealist bias firmly in place, he only selected the empirical input to confirm his theories.Marx was an average economist and a terrible humanist. It works in terms of a budget where companies will burn money on frivolous things just because they need to use up that money. That's how it was in Japan. You would see road crews spend weeks with dozens of guys digging up the street, and I literally mean dozens. One was there directing traffic, one was supervising him, one was supervising the both. One guy was working the backhoe. One guy was supervising and so on. They'd spend weeks digging. Then the next day they'd literally refill the hole, pave over it and then go down to another street and repeat the process. This is the mindset of government execs: if I saved money this fiscal year, the power that be will see that my team can run on less money so they'll give me less next year.
The tugboat, on the contrary, is self-renewable and is not subject to cuts. Phil and his ilk never think of saving because there is no "rainy days".
He wasn't a stupid man but he was, as you say, an idealist. He just didn't "get" humanity as a whole.Marx, following Hegel, is an Idealist in Philosophy's sense. But every person I've known with a tugboat has been the same way. Gotta spend ALL this money to the point where they're always short at the end of the month because they're terrified that if they have so much as a penny left over they'll get one penny less next month.

They tried to implement it and they failed because in the end it's a pipe dream. Communism, whether the type envisioned by Marx or what we got, was not a viable system.

It's like how fascism and authoritarianism don't mean the same thing but people still say one when it's the other. Fascism is characterized by extreme nationalism. Whereas authoritarianism is simply, "do as I say". There's places where they cross over, there's parts where if you look at a Venn diagram they share certain beliefs. But they're not the same thing and yet people confuse and conflate the two things all the time.
My original post was simply clarifying that communism, as we got it, was not what Marx envisioned so it was never really communism.

The idea with these people is, "I need to spend it all or else next month I get less". So they spend all their money. No attempt to save, no attempt to break free from their position. No. It's all about spending everything meaning that if they do break free and get a real job, not Taters because he's unemployable, they fall into the same mindset of "need to buy everything". But this time it's to make up for all those years they lived without it. And even though they're working they're still poor because they're always broke.
It's largely a mix of it literally being more interesting than the actual cow, along with unintentional flexing of how we actually understand the material far more than the cow claiming to be completely into this shit.I love how one of the dumbest cows on this site has spawned in-depth discussions about the Chinese economy, Chinese history and Marxism.
Right, but most often when people call a government fascist they mean authoritarian. That was the point.Any form of government can be authoritarian. Capitalistic Republics and Democracies, Communism, Socialism, Fascism, Monarchism, Hegemonies...any government can become an oppressive authoritarian regime. Some are more geared towards authoritarianism. I would say that some are even an inevitability, like Communism and Theocracies.
Or just calling them out on it and pointing out what would probably happen to them if they found themselves in those situations. In Mao's China, Taters would have been shot. And that's after being beaten, tortured and paraded through the streets while people threw garbage at him. It's largely a mix of it literally being more interesting than the actual cow, along with unintentional flexing of how we actually understand the material far more than the cow claiming to be completely into this shit.
Any belief system that ADF believes in always involves the idea that when the 'revolution' comes, he'll be treated like a king, when in reality he'd be seen as the parasite he is and likely executed on the spot.Or just calling them out on it and pointing out what would probably happen to them if they found themselves in those situations. I'd still love to see how he'd make out being in Stalinist Russia and sent to Nazino a.k.a Cannibal Island.Any belief system that ADF believes in always involves the idea that when the 'revolution' comes, he'll be treated like a king, when in reality he'd be seen as the parasite he is and likely executed on the spot.
He'd likely die of starvation before he even got there since AFAIK cheese is not a big part of the Russian diet (I seriously don't know what Russian cuisine is like).I'd still love to see how he'd make out being in Stalinist Russia and sent to Nazino a.k.a Cannibal Island.
He’d live longer than a lot of people due to being just unbelievably fat. He’s a known snitch, so he’d probably dob his fellow prisoners in to the guards. But once things started getting really bad, he’d be one of the first to die. There’s no advantage to keeping him around, he can’t defend himself, he’s too unfit to escape, no one likes him and he’s the sort of person it would probably be quite funny to torture.I'd still love to see how he'd make out being in Stalinist Russia and sent to Nazino a.k.a Cannibal Island.
Knowing Phil he bounces and squeaks so much that he doesn’t even make it to the camp. The train stops, they shoot him in the head, and keep going. He'd likely die of starvation before he even got there since AFAIK cheese is not a big part of the Russian diet (I seriously don't know what Russian cuisine is like).
If you were really a true member you would take your punishment like a man and shut the fuck up. Plus of course they didn't care, they just didn't want to put up with your screeching. You screeching at them about how you’re a true member of the party probably gets you a bullet because they don’t want to hear it.

Soviet and Chicom guards were pretty much no nonsense. Even if you said you were the most diehard supporter of the ideology a lot of these guys didn’t care if you annoyed them. These aren’t Upper Party Cadres or military officers. They ate the same stuff the prisoners ate, and otherwise got a wage, enough to afford some booze and smokes at least. You screeching at them about how you’re a true member of the party probably gets you a bullet because they don’t want to hear it.
For all his talk of being supportive of the Communists in China keep something in mind. Mao had numerous people who supported him at the top level of the party removed and often murdered. Even if he was Minister of Transportation or whatever, there’s literally no scenario in a Communist society where he doesn’t end up in a body bag with a bullet to the head or a broken neck.
EDIT: Also Russian Cuisine doesn’t include much cheese, they prefer Sour Cream.
Phil is such a fucking failure that his thread derailings are more interesting than his OCI love how one of the dumbest cows on this site has spawned in-depth discussions about the Chinese economy, Chinese history and Marxism.
