IRC, Kent State happened over this:
Protest over a pointless war in Vietnam.
The Summer of Love was much more serious and politically motivated than Kent State. If anything, it would've strengthen Trump's boasting of "LAW AND ORDER!" He had the absolute right to do something, overriding the governors' orders to stand down.
I'm not a political analyst, but one could've (SHOULD'VE) archived the countless amounts of rioting since the George Floyd incident as a clear as day warning and rationalization of such an act. No flairs, no propaganda, no commentary, just raw footage.
That could've sealed the deal of Trump for 2020, election fraud be damned.

Some good news for Republicans in Georgia - Kemp and Walker are ahead of Abrams and Warnock, respectively.
Kemp is polling 51.4% to Abrams's 43.5%. Herschel Walker has only a slight lead over Warnock, at 45.2% to 43.6%. However, it's noted that in the suburbs, Walker has a 5-point lead over Warnock, so he may actually be doing better.
The only caveat with this poll is that it was conducted by the Phillips Academy, who I've never heard of, and have no idea how reliable they've been in the past.
The fact that there was so much political, corporate, and NGO backing over the rioters and that every part of the system seemed to be working to ensure that they continued is what's convinced me that the Floyd Riots were basically a Color Revolution carried out on our own fucking soil.

The problem is that there's a high probability that if he had invoked the Insurrection Act, Miley and other political lifetimers at the Pentagon would've refused the order and either resigned or gone to the Democrats in Congress to proclaim that Trump was making tyrannical moves against "peaceful protesters." Not only would this have made Trump look incredibly weak and powerless, but the Democrats and their allies would've moved to impeach him or have him removed from the ballot.

Yes, but not universally all causes for all participants.
Some supported it just to fuck with Trump, some supported it because they saw it as a revolution for a just cause. Some supported it because they enjoyed the chaos, profited from the chaos, or benefited indirectly from the Chaos. News Media can report on months of wild happenings and crank the rhetoric and hate views to 11. Politicians can completely ignore all their promises and native issues and focus the conversation on this thing that they can make grandiose statements about - but have no power to actually do anything about.
Big business can support it reassuring themselves that they're not the corporate overlords, they're still supporting the 'good guys'. Big Bad Business realize that they can trade a few main street franchise locations for the destruction of mom and pop businesses that compete with them on a level they can't effectively answer, but don't have the reserves to survive terrorism, unlike the BBB. And of course some people just want an excuse to smash, loot, fight, and get angry, in a society that demonizes even organized sports as too violent, much less anything that would let them blow off steam more healthily.
Many people had marginal benefits to gain from joining in the dogpile. The only real conjoining factor is they see the current order and expectations as not worth preserving, so the wider damage done isn't even seen as damage to them, just unrelated collateral. Like ISIS fighting in ancient ruins and getting them bombed to shit - its just some convenient rocks to them.

I mean, I and others here have proffered that the U.S. has devolved from an actual republic to an oligarchy (or an "Oligarchy with Democratic Trappings"). These people were used to having the consensus political and economic arrangement that had been the status quo for 20-plus years. Trump - love him or hate him - undeniably tapped into a mass energy among the populace that was dissatisfied with that arrangement and wanted reform, and it successfully propelled him into the White House. We already saw how D.C. and just about everyone in it hated him from day one and was looking at was to either deligitimize him or sabotage his agenda, so it's not too much of a stretch to conclude that they would eventually wind up pulling in America the same kind of shenanigans they pull off in other countries in order to make Bad Orange Man go away and they could get back to the way things were.

If I had to guess, I'd say they thought that Trump was pushing us toward a conflict with China that they weren't ready for yet. The sort where the USA would suddenly find itself unable to buy things like antibiotics and every western-owned factory is instantly nationalized by the CCP.
Also, what you think you know about Kent State is probably based entirely off of leftist lies and bullshit.

Being the governor of California is term limited, Newsome can get another 4 year term If he wants and that is it. However, Newsome could parlay being a two term governor into being installed as the new Permanent Senator of California to replace Dianne Feinstein and easily be one of those 4, 5, 6+ 6 year term, "I'm going to die in office" senators starting before he was 60. He could easily pig out at the trough as a California senator for 4 or 5 terms. DeSantis is similar but 10 years younger. Look at what happened to Kamala Harris after she gave up the Senator For Life cherry gig in California to be vice president. Her political career is toast.

With Kent State, what prompted the National Guard being deployed in the first place was that the ROTC building was burned down. The incident itself has several "he said-she said" attributes to it where the Guardsman claim someone opened fire on them first.

There's been quite a bit of quiet reconning of Kent State for a while now.
The biggest takeaway, was that the hippies were warned that the Nasty Girlz would open fire, but they flat out went "Nuh-uh, they won't, they wouldn't dare..."
And then were shocked when they did.
Or to keep him from leaving. Which is a bit concerning.

Philips Academy Andover is a well known (arguably worldwide known) boarding school for rich kids with a small amount of lower income overachievers. George W. Bush (and I believe HW Bush) are both alumni. I think at least one other President went there as well. It's been an 'Ivy League" type boarding school for centuries. It's briefly referenced in The Catcher in the Rye when Holden Caulfield talks about how Andover kids are all the same or something like that.
- In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tony Stark was a member of the class of 1984 at Andover.
- In episode 17 of House of Cards, a reporter mentions that Claire Underwood attended "the prestigious Phillips Academy."
They started a polling outlet this year. First high school to do that ever. I don't think they're reliable (they released another particularly shitty poll earlier this year). I know someone who went to their rival Philips Exeter Academy and it's a woke shithole. Lots of schools full of rich kids have been hijacked by far left SJW crap years ago. Same thing goes for rich boarding schools in the UK.
