Good media that is hampered by fandom?

In another topic awhile back, I asked if Undertale was good and people told me it is, but just avoid the fandom.

In this day and age it seems like fandoms ruin a lot of things, even things you would otherwise like, and it makes me wonder if there's things that are actually good that I may have been ignoring because of the fanbase.

So yeah, what things do you think fall into the "its good, just don't interact with the fanbase" category?

Tumblr killed fandoms by ease of access, the most famous being Warhammer 40k. Never forget how infantilized the Death Korps of Krieg became when they learned they were zealous conscripts ready to die to atone for their betrayal- oh, wait, it's because there's a chance of a Guardsman being a broken 17 year old killing an Ork with a shovel. Hurr durr trench warfare and cavalry in the far future.

Anything that is difficult to learn or has a barrier to entry has a higher chance of being good. The barrier for 40k was lowered by bite-sized media avoiding the grimdarkness and focusing on memes.

Star Wars. They are either weird man-children who overly identify with fictional characters and are constantly after those dang ol' SJWs, or they are the same kind of people who simp for Marvel and will unquestioningly Buy Next Product while reeeeeeeing at anyone who criticizes it.

This one's probably a little steamy, but most of the original FNAF games by Scott Cawthon are pretty all right. Maybe I'm biased because I was paying attention to them while they were coming out and the lore drops were still happening so solving the mystery around them was really fun.

D&D (and other tabletop games but D&D is the worst fan-wise)

Very fun game. Great way to exercise your creativity, but ever since motherfucking 5th edition and Critical Role it’s been plagued with Tumblrinas, furries and other degenerates, wokesters and theater kid faggots.

This is a game where gatekeeping is absolutely necessary. Stick with your own friends that play, or if you’re looking to play with a new group, stick with the ones who like 2e, AD&D or 3.5

Marvel cape shit isn't good media.
I know, I don't watch it on my own accord but if somebody wants to tag me along for it and whatever else I'm down but I know the cringe is gonna bite down hard the second I sit down.

My personal problem is with Sonic fans. When did the Sonic fanbase get so compliant toward mediocrity? Sonic is going to lose even more credibility if they start claiming '06 is an underrated classic when it most certainly isn't.

The Metal Gear series fans have been unbearable for a long time, but now that Revengence memes are big right now its gotten ten times worse. Seeing zoomers who think they know everything about politics because a game they played said "military bad" and writing essays on their shallow understanding of socioeconomic issues like there experts because Kojima made an obvious point years ago is very tiresome.

dragon age is absolutely overrun with fags and troons. it’s a good game with fascinating lore.

but any online community you join you’re met with a barrage of content that cringingly forces fag ideology down your throat.
