Probably not the best place to ask but fuck it: how do you deal with people that are adamant to be called non-binary in real life? With trannies I meet I can pretend to be polite, but with people that ask to be called non-binary I cannot come to terms to see them as “they” or call them one day as a man and another as s woman. It's ridiculous.

I ask because there's someone I care about that has me cornered because I won't refer to her as them. It's probably better to cut communication and lose the friendship, but it's sad to see it go this way.

Thats why pronouns bullshit is very unlikely to ever make its way into Polish language. Every noun has its gender which is specified by the ending of the word and there are no gender neutral pronouns.

Really? I’ve had the impression that gendered language is the incentive for pronoun people to start asking to be gendered and referred to in their desired way. Maybe I’m missing some understanding of the Polish language. Gender neutral language is both a blessing and a curse - it’s very equal in a sense, but it also makes genderspecial people reee harder because they can’t find a way to be referred to in an opposite way (see English; my pronouns are he/him!! Then they can get angry about the wrong pronouns which is basically the irritation that keeps them going on the daily). What ends up happening is that they want to use English in their interactions and of course like to be present in social media because then they can have their preferred pronouns and have the right dose of oppression. It makes me very thunkful.

Do they know how vanishingly rare it is for someone who was born with normal male genitalia to have XX chromosomes? Though maybe they are onto something. We should make testing mandatory for troons before they get HRT so they need to stop "you don't know my chromosomes" as an argument.

Polish is like German, stuff like non-binary straight up doesn't work because there is no singular they. What's more, in Polish the nouns and adjectives change depending on the grammatical gender of the word/the actual gender of the person being talked about so again, non-binary is simply impossible (And don't even think about neo-pronouns). There are even two different plural theys, depending on wether the group has a man in it or not. ("One" for a group of women, animals or objects and "Oni" for a group that has at least one man. ) So to get the gender bullshit in there you basically have to destroy the entire language. Which, I'm just gonna guess here, will not fly very well in Poland.

In German they are pushing the retarded "Gendersternchen" in the name of inclusivity which makes words look like this: Lehrer*in (Lehrer= Teacher, Lehrerin= female Teacher). It looks stupid and often makes for very clunky sentences, especially when trying to read them out loud but at least it works to a certain extend. In Polish the nouns and adjectives can change so much you'd just cause a massive chaos trying to get your little * everwhere.

Honestly? I think it would be completely fair when a patient presents with "I am suffering from gender dysphoria so keenly that I will do away with myself if I am not treated" to do a battery of both physical and mental testing to determine if there is a biological cause or if it is merely their perception. Then, begin treating accordingly.

You can refer to someone in a male or female form so if a man troon wants to be called a girl that can be done, but the non binary, them/they and other crap wont work. We have a case system for words and there are seven cases for how nouns, adjectives and pronouns change their ending depending on their role in a sentence, one word can have like 20 different endings. Lets say Demi Levato is now non binary, you can say "Demi went" or "Demi did", both went and did are neutral, its the same word for men, women, animal etc. But in Polish went and did will be different for a female and for a male, every word has a gender.
