While Linus does seem to be at least a competent businessman (inasmuch as he built up his company and LMG isn't on fire everyday), at the heart of it, he is still an ADHD Manchild--even with that beard
His manic energy extends to more unscripted areas like the WAN show where he really overshares shit and says stuff he really shouldn't be putting out there willy-nilly. Furthermore, previous interviews with employees have shown that yes, Linus is EXACTLY as manic and ridiculous in the office as he is in the YouTube videos. That certainly doesn't inspire confidence in his ability to think critically PR wise.
It further solidifies my theory that Linus is at a constant state of cognitive dissonance between the values he preaches (pro-consumer, tech enthusiast friendly, etc) versus the values that he would need to grow a successful company (exploit brand recognition, cut corners wherever you can, exploit legal loopholes, fuck over your userbase)
Eventually, Linus will have to pick a side between his pro-consumer and pro-corporation beliefs because the public is seeing him to be the big hypocrite that he truly is.
