More Vampire Academy sperging
I looked into it and found this article from 2021 where they list the cast.
Some select quotes:
J. August Richards (Angel, Generation) as Victor Dashkov, a Moroi noble vampire with a heart of gold who’s highly regarded for his role as advisor and political strategist.
Heart of gold! That’s our Victor. Natalie isn’t listed anywhere. I’ve heard some theories that she and Mia got merged into one character and Victor is her adopted dad.
Anita-Joy Uwajeh (National Theatre Live: King Lear) as Tatiana Vogel, a Moroi vampire and political underdog who slowly takes the royal court by storm.
Some people on Reddit think Tasha and Tatiana got merged. I liked book Tatiana, she was a bitch.
I also found one article with Asian Christian talking about how he had never seen an Asian play a vampire before (lol).
Anyway, while trying to figure out what is going on with this show, I looked on Reddit. Dimitri will not be Russian, he will be British (with Russian roots I guess). The Slavs are disappointed:

There’s something kind of funny about taking a book based on Slavic folklore and truly amerifying it to the point that the slavs are a nonelement all in the name of representation.

Also, had to lol at this comment. “Good luck finding a 6’7” Russian who speaks good English and is well trained.” We couldn’t possibly find a tall actor who could do a Russian accent! Might as well settle for British since we don’t have icky feelings toward them.

So looks like Larry Coreia is perfectly OK according to this list. Yay my reading choices make me progressive!

How is Rudyard Kipling a racist? Mowgli's an Indian.
How is Harper Lee a racist? Atticus Finch did everything in his power to help Tom.
Okay, but I will admit to Burroughs being a murderer. More likely than not, he has killed someone.

Isnt sarah j maas the chick who writes the books with the female dark elf on the cover?

Edit: Yes she is.

They probably take issue with "The White Man's Burden," at least. Personally, I have my suspicions that that was written as satire, but I don't know enough about Kipling to say that definitively.
White mans burden and most of his stuff is basically imperialism without the romance read the widows party, recessional and the Roman Centurions Song if you want to know more

I completely forgot about White Man's Burden, I was focused on the Jungle Book mention.

I defy anyone to read "the miracle of purun bhagat" and call Kipling racist.

He was a man who clearly had an affection for the people of India. But he was also a realist about how things are.

Or Gunga Din

I love that Brandon Patterson made the list after he's tried to be so accommodating, and Larry Correia didn't get a single mention.

I love that Veronica Roth is on there for 'Romanizing Chronic Pain.' What a bigot. Romans aren't the only ones who experience pain. Talk about cultural imperialism.

I love that she stuck Colleen Hover on there but couldn't be bothered to give a reason why.

I love that the Shakespeare works used to demonstrate his racism are Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet, rather than Merchant of Venice and Othello.

I am disappointed that the list doesn't translate nicely into a group of authors who deserve to be read. She's got Marion Zimmer Bradly in there, which means she has included at least one author whose books I'd happily torch. But she's got Dr. Seuss in the same list because he drew someone oriental in a way that made them look oriental (oh, the trauma!).

My take away from this list is that no one is safe. I hope all the authors who go along to get along take a long, hard look at this and realize that they aren't buying themselves security. The more people they allow to be fed to the beast, the hungrier the beast will get. It's better to not give a flip and just write what you want to write. That's what Larry Correia's done, he still sells books, and this woman isn't even targeting him.

Dr. Seuss drew some racist anti-Japanese cartoons during WWII.

Marion Zimmer Bradley sexually abused her children for years, and facilitated the predatory sexual abuse of her partner, Walter Breen, for decades.

That this chart implicitly considers these things to be equal is proof its author is an absolute loon.

Worse he (Dr Seuss) apologized for it after the fact, when he didnt have too either.

I’ve been really disappointed in the peacock version I saw so far. I loved the Vampire Academy books when I was younger and they still have a soft spot in my heart. I remember when they announced the plot of the series and it’s like Julie Plec wanted to make a show directed at everyone who called her racist for Vampire Diaries.

Natalie’s dad is now gay and black. Why.
Tatiana is black, so Adrian will probably also be black.
The show is shot in Spain and it’s like they thought the academy was in Europe and not fucking Montana. VA was neat for leaning into the slav stuff, not whatever this is.
It supposedly goes right into the Vampire Politics world, which. Why.
Some characters are going to be gay because the books weren’t straight enough when they came out 15 years ago. Who? You’ll have to watch to find out!

I get so frustrated by Hollywood bending over backwards to make everyone gay POCs. Does the plot of the silly vampire books change that much with Black Rose? No. But it’s as if the show runners don’t believe in or value the source material enough to let the characters be the way they were written, which was fucking white. They’re Slavs. In a book based on Slavic mythology.
Like how is it that of all people, Stephenie Meyer was one of the few didn’t let Hollywood make her characters black. She imagined them white and got them white. And the Twilight movies are pretty faithful to the book. Imagine that.
lmao julie plec really going full nig with this series.

i wonder how awful its going to be, but im not even going to hate watch it. i love vampire shit but I skipped that faggy first kill show exactly because I knew it was just going to be a presentation on globohomo and have nothing to do with actual vampires, which i can already tell is going to happen here.

A culturally-appropriating alt-right bigot colonizer then. The list of Kipling's racist sins grows. Can we get someone to take away his Nobel Prize?

Wartime propaganda should be excused, since it's always a product of extreme circumstances. (Though Ilya Ehrenburg was right about Germans.)

"Ableist" is such a meaningless term. Maybe it started out as actual discrimination, like not having wheelchair-access ramps where they legally should be.

Now it's anything from acknowledging that deafness is a disability, to using words like "dumb" or "crazy" or even phrases like "tone deaf", to thinking your life would be worse if you had all your limbs cut off, to acknowledging that low-functioning autism sucks and is a burden on the people who have to be that person's nanny for their entire adult life so they don't smear poop all over the walls.

It's gotten so absurd that any behavior that assumes a fully abled person is now considered "ableist." The pinnacle of this stupidity is something I've seen a few times before that is now cropping up at official US government gatherings: when someone introduces themselves, they not only give their pronouns (naturally), but offer a physical description of themselves for the benefit of the blind. This includes their general appearance plus the style and color of their clothes.

Even though someone blind from birth hasn't the foggiest idea what color even is.
