Getting into Harvard is easy. Staying in might be the harder part. Also getting in is not technically "hard" either considering how some people have entered with little to no following. The problem is that it might take a ton of luck because of how many people apply. Mika Melatika (Niji) got in and she had a <300 subscribed account. Something people dont often talk about is projection and how you market yourself. First impressions are very important. Chances are that the people that got selected not only are very talented but they also possibly nailed their audition video. I would assume that others that are possibly more talented possibly fucked up their auditions.

FTL's an interesting game plot-wise because you actually play as a member of the giant space federation government's military and the "bad guys" you're on the run from are rebels - an inversion of the usual space adventure tropes.

Definitely a great game if you like tactical games and don't mind the roguelike aspects of it; 95% of the games you start will end with you being destroyed in the cold dark vacuum of space well before you get to the final boss no matter how well you do… which is what will probably drag you out of playing it from time to time. But eventually it'll draw you back.

I really need to start trying to watch Gramps more. It really seems like we have similar taste in games. I guess I can't keep ignoring the penis-havers forever.

EDIT: Although he shouldn't be firing his lasers concurrently… If two lasers fired at the same time hit the shield or a room at the same time, it will still only count as one point of damage to the target. The other shot is wasted. Kinda surprised that he seems pretty competent at this game but hasn't realized that yet.

I had to leave before he got a second laser and won’t be able to get back to the vod for several hours to see it in action, but doesn’t the semi-random angle of attack take care of that? (Depending on where in the screen the shots come from, they’d have different distances to travel.)

Edit: looking it up in Reddit threads from 5 years ago, yes, I am right. The hits will naturally stagger based on their travel distance, the chance of them landing at the exact same time is so small that it’s basically negligible.
